My pro boat impulse is flying and the motor is not even a little bit warm after a fresh full couple lipo's' .these motor is much better then i hoped it would be. I am very happy. I use the turnigy 180 amp esc. And its a super super combo

Just a superb piece of kit. My Huntsman goes like a scalded cat with this installed (Look on youtube for brushless huntsman username jon lawes...). It's been perfectly behaved, although the torque does each flexible couplings. Can't blame the motor for that...

It's almost certainly overkill for your application. So you NEED it.

Warning: the internal windings burn when driven at 160A 22V(6S) in about 3 min despite strong forced water cooling (front and body) with 35C max body temp.
I burned two of them in 2 weeks interval !
Current, voltage, temperatures (motor, ESC, battery, internal ship temp) sensed and checked via telemetry in real time.
Max current set using progressively larger and larger propellers and careful max throttle adjustment to not go over the (said) max 160A.
Other: ESC : Turnigy TrackStar 1/5th Scale Sensorless 200amp 8s Opto Car ESC (and one HobbyKing Red Brick 200A ESC which died when one of the motors winding burned and short circuited); Lipo 8A.H 45C nanotech, Hitec Aurora Optima Telemetry; Boat :Osprey Brushless V-Hull R/C Boat (not with the stock motor !)

I bought this motor for my KMB 28mm jet boat, the build quality is nice I still sealed the fittings with Si just in case. Leads are stiff and had to make use of the extensions provided with the recommended esc 120A aquastar. After doing some tests motor seems to prefer to run at 8khz for a smooth consistent performance. All in all very nice motor and I look forward to it serving me well.
