    Soldering is always a messy business. There is always a need for an extra hand or three. This tool is designed for making it easy to hold all your components together while freeing up your hands for soldering. It is also an effective device for holding small objects whilst painting them and has all sorts of other uses.

     

    The stand has a solid aluminum base, for stability, with six flexible arms attached. Each arm comes with an alligator clip making it easy to hold components or wires. You can easily remove the alligator clips and replace them with your choice of tool such as an LED light or small magnifying glass if you are into customising. It also comes with a USB powered fan for blowing all the smoke away or cooling your solder joints.

     

    Many hands make life easy with this superbly built device.

    Nice to have Extra Hands

    I've used this several times since I purchased it and it's nice to have the multiple ways to grip a part for applying glue or epoxy and I especially like the ability to have the extra hand when I'm soldering wires and connectors. One of the things I like is the ability to change the length of the arms by popping the beads apart and adding or removing them to get the length I need. Being able to bend them into almost any configuration is also a big plus.
    The USB fan works well enough to draw the soldering smoke and fumes away from the parts being soldered, it's a nice feature but now you have to have a power source. I use a small USB power source that I keep handy to keep my phone charged.
    The Base is heavy enough and has enough surface area to provide a stable platform for most small projects provided the items being clamped are not extremely heavy.
    The negatives are: Sometimes the beads are difficult to get apart. The alligator clips come out of the holding sleeves very easy so you have to spread the part of the alligator clip that slides into the sleeve apart a little to get the clip to sty in especially if the item you are clamping to is a bit heavy.
    All in all I'm very pleased with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone who needs an extra set of hands on occasion.
