I am very impressed with this motor. Runs smooth and quiet and lots of power. Run this motor with HK tgy marine 180A esc on 6s timing on LOW or you will burn up something.Motor does not get hot. I had to buy a 40mm cooling jacket from the competition because HK does not sell these.It comes with 4mm connectors but you do not get the female connectors.Checked all the bolts and were all tight and with locktite. No vibrations on this motor.Hope this helps somewhat.

I have one of these and a leopard of similar specifications. This motor works just as well on my boat as the more expensive motor.

Honestly I have this motor and a simillar spec leopard that costed me well over $100 and I can't see any advantage to the leopard. I have run them both on the same boat, the turnigy motor is just a great value at a fraction of the price ..

I did test with HK 190\200 amp esc on 8s, 1400kv motor, and CS 90mm fan mount reinforced with 1/16th inch plywood so the fan can take the increase lbs of thrust with no thrust tube.

8s\29.5v\ 104 amps\ 9lbs 5oz peak....around 8.9oz settled (meaning the motor heat was bringing thrust down not packs explained below)

I got a little higher heat because I like to beat the crap out of my motors on the thrust stand. Hold them WOT for 15-20 second the let them heat soak and not air cool...that'll fail a motor quick but this one is "ok". I also took the end caps off the can and drilled holes in them for cooling and that helped a lot. No laminate smell to speak of.

Now, I was expecting around 10-11lbs of thrust and think I didn't get it because the windings for the motor are around 60mm long and not 74...yes, that little change in the mag field will lower RPM numbers even if the motor doesn't burn up. If you take the bottom cap off there's around 10 - 15mm of space were you can drill holes in the side of the can for cooling and not even think about hitting the windings cause they're so much shorter than the can.

Oh well, around 9 - 10lbs of thrust for 50usd isn't bad just wanted to get some higher numbers

This motor is not bad but found it to be slightly out of balance. The 4 allen screws holding the end cap on did not have any thread lock (locktite). The 1400kv rating is likely in error (too low).
I used this motor in a Changesun 12 blade 90mm fan. The motor was only slightly too large for the shroud but fit once sanded (using a belt sander).
99A/2100watts initially then settled to around 95A/1950watts. This is only in a test stand with no ducting. The branded 1400kv rating must be too low for these high numbers. The upside is that motor temps were reasonable with 170F after mixed power and 190F after a decent WOT (no cool down running).

Will fit the HET 700 fan housing nicely, but not the WeMoTec Midifan housing ... comparable in kv to the Neu 1515-3d, with a slightly lower efficiency.

Expect ca. 2500W max on 9S in the HET 700 fan on 9S. I wish it had open endbells for cooling.
