The Aermacchi SF.260 is a light aircraft marketed as an aerobatics and military trainer. It was designed by Stelio Frati in 1964, originally for Aviamilano, though actual production was undertaken when SIAI Marchetti purchased the design. The military versions are popular with smaller air forces, which can also arm it for use in the close-support role. Known for its pure lines and excellent flying characteristics, it is available in both piston-engine and turboprop variants. The SF-260 has been used by various civilian aerobatic teams and some 27 different military customers have already bought more than 900 SF-260 in all variants.
This sport scale Marchetti SF-260 comes pre-built with a bench to flying field time! Featuring a built-up balsa and light plywood airframe, coming pre-covered in a semi-scale color scheme. Tricycle landing gear ready for retracts, a slight bit of dihedral in the long wing, and a large tail contribute to smooth, graceful, scale-like aerobatics. Flaps slow the model down for effortless landings, making this a fun, everyday flier.
To complete this model you will need 10 standard size servos, a .91 cu. in. 2-stroke glow engine, and a 5-6 channel transmitter and receiver.
