I have to agree with the other reviewers on this LED strip. It claims it's 3S compatible, but it gets EXTREMELY hot when connected to a fully charged 3S pack. A resistor is necessary to run this with 3S.

I run them with a Meanwell LDD-300L (http://www.meanwell.com/mw_search/ldd-l/LDD-L-SPEC.PDF) switching DC current driver to ensure the leds are driven within rating despite the battery voltage (you can run them from about 10V to 36V input voltage). They are very bright, but only heat up to about 40C. Additionally, this driver has a PWM input (up to 1Khz, not servo-PWM) which I have connected to a GPIO of my Pixhawk flight controller using a N-FET inverter (the GPIO can't drive the current neccessary for the PWM input, I've used 100 Ohm in series to the gate for protection, 100K pull down on the gate and 1K pull up to the battery voltage on the drain). Using the PX4-built-in application gpio_led, the led stripes begin to blink when the battery reaches a low voltage. The PWM input can just left unconnected if not needed.

They get very hot. Run at 9.0VDC and make sure of polarity. Some of the JST's are improperly assembled

This LED has been tested by me on my plane and have to say that in clear weather the LED was visible even at a distance of / - 350 m.
Led is on the leading edge of the wing glued with glue 302 HK.
as power supply is a 3s lipo and use a 10-ohm resistor-10watt.
Will in the future several models of these LEDs provide.

Do NOT connect it to fully charged 3S directly!
Never!
Only 2S
(or LiFePo4 half charged)

Good product!

It should work as a LED - via resistor or LED driver.

Vdrop:
8.40V * 200mA
8.69V * 300mA
8.95V * 400mA
9.07V * 450mA
9.22V * 500mA
Put resistor in series R=(Vbat - Vdrop)/I (choose current you want) Resistor 1-3W (P=(Vbat - Vdrop) * I )

Don't know how long it survive if get wet or in a cold weather.

Tested with 11.1V 3S lipo. Very bright although theres a need to keep the current to 300mA to prevent overheating.
*It is so bright it blinds ur eyes.

tres lumineux, bien visible l'exterieur en pleine journee, chauffe assez fort, contrairement a ce qui est annonce le courant consomme est de 1,1 A sous 12V, ce qui fait plus de 12W, plein d'applications possibles...
