    Great Idea, Mediocre Execution

    When I saw this tool listed in the comments of a YouTube video about upgrading super cheap ESCs to SimonK circa 2015, I fell in love with the idea. The unit is very well made and very slick looking. The pins even have a spring loaded property. However, programming Atmel chips was pretty hit or miss. The first 3 ESCs went OK with just a few re-attempts required. By the fourth ESC, the tool was shot. It took two days, several modifications to the tools, and about 50 attempts to get that last ESC programmed. Even then the tool was not steady enough to verify the write, but the ESC works. So the tool cost more per programmed ESC than the ESCs themselves. Next time I will just solder tiny wires to the Atmel chip.

    poorly made managed to flash 4 ESC's. It stopped working. I thought I'll just replace it but the price has tripled. DON"T waste your money

    My tool had a wrong pin connection !! ground pin was wired to wrong pin on usbasp header :( i had to cut the heatshrink and resolder to the correct pin.
    Sending it back would have cost me more then repairing it myself. to bad....

    Great product. Does exactly what it should do, used it to flash my spider opto 30A esc. No issues with flashing and it fit perfectly onto the chip. Don't forget to buy the adapter for the usb cable, you wont be able to hookup to your PC without it.
