I suspect this will be one of those products with Quality control issues, I bought this and it would not charge. it balanced one pack in stand alone mode and then would not balance any more after that. I would have liked to see it work but wont buy another. I gave it 1 crown for overall as it was a big disappointment and 3 crowns for value for its potential savings if it worked, and 1 crown for quality as it was DOA for charging and failed after the first balance.

I have to say it balance's big packs well, which is nice. So I'm giving more stars on this review. I don't want to mislead people and have them not buy it, when it is a good product for the money. Way better then the battery medic. It will just need a fan, if you want to balance big out of balance packs, which makes it get hot and read "phantom cells" on a few of the unused cells. It will also read phantom cells, if you are not using it with an 8s pack. It has been around 95 degrees F, so that also could be the problem. I'll try and see if they work better when it is cold at night.

When balancing a 3s pack, the balancer shows cell 4 and 5 having .1 to 2.0 volts per cell. Useless with packs other than 8s. Worthless product!!! I try and charge my pack and it stops because it sees 2 "phantom" cells that are low. I think if I add a fan, they might work, it seams to read the phantom cells when it is warm and not when it is cold.
