Het Ryan STA was een van de mooiste op zoek trainers om uit de jaren 1930 "Gouden Eeuw" van de luchtvaart, de "A" variant van het Ryan ST is ontworpen voor aerobatic, die Ryan omgezet naar de militaire STM-versie te produceren, dit was eigenlijk de hetzelfde vliegtuig met veranderingen om te voldoen aan de militaire eisen. Het Ryan STA is een favoriet bij schaalmodel fans, niet verwonderlijk gezien de combinatie van goede looks en zeer solide en voorspelbaar vliegeigenschappen. Dit prachtige Durafly® ™ Ryan STM is een model van een YPT-16-versie en zeker doet dit goed uitziende vliegtuig gerechtigheid!

De Durafly® ™ Balsa serie is eerst en vooral over de kwaliteit, de prachtig gebouwde casco is zowel licht van gewicht en robuust, het vakkundig toegepaste bekleding is top en het model is afgewerkt met prachtig beschilderde glasvezel wielkap, kap, de zetel bult en lucht uitlaat. De kwaliteit van de vooraf geïnstalleerde aandrijflijn is ook eerste klas, met Ryan trots een krachtige NTM borstelloze outrunner en Turnigy ESC combinatie in de neus. Ook de vooraf geïnstalleerde servo's zijn de alom gerespecteerde en vertrouwde HXT 900's, die veel koppel voor het bedienen van de Ryan's stuurvlakken hebben. De vooraf geïnstalleerde hardware, zoals de glasvezel roerhoornen is van topkwaliteit en de regelstaven worden beveiligd door koppeling stoppers betekent niet van de gebruikelijke plastic voorwerpen zijn te vinden op deze prachtig gemaakte maquette. Omdat balsa, zou je verwachten dat de Ryan om een beetje langer duren om te monteren dan een schuimige maar even, het is zo veel meer de moeite waard, zelfs rekening houdend met het hoge niveau van pre-afwerking dat al voor u gedaan. Dit prachtige model is ook zeer praktisch en beschikt over een grote luifel voor een gemakkelijke toegang batterij en een verwijderbare 1pc vleugel voor gemakkelijk transport.

Er is geen twijfel over de voordelen die balsa modellen bieden meer dan schuim, de lichtheid en de precisie van houtbouw bieden een zekere frisheid om de vlucht kenmerken die schuim zelden kan evenaren, zal ook balsa modellen goed voor de komende jaren uitzien als verzorgd als ze dat niet doen last hebben van hanger uitslag zo gemakkelijk. Durafly® ™ zijn baanbrekend in de invoering van een nieuwe reeks die het gebruiksgemak van een Plug combineert and Fly schuimig met de kwaliteit van een top notch balsa model en er is geen twijfel dat dit fantastische zoek Ryan vliegt elke duim zo goed als het ziet. Looks wonderful, it's reviewed well in Model Aviation magazine, but my fuselage is not square. The tail post is twisted to the right by over 6 mm and the wing is not square with the fuselage. Not by a little, we are talking 1 cm or more on one side. A real shame. There is no way that this will fly straight. You can see that Durafly attempted to square the horizontal stab with the wing with an additional shim but with the tail post and wing so far out of true from the fuselage, the body leans heavily to one side with respect to the wing (approx. 70 degrees and 110 on the other).

Trs bien ralis. Vole extrmement bien. Dcollage sur l'herbe facile. Bonne puissance avec APC 10x7. qualit/prix super.
L'hlice de la bote pas bonne. ESC capricieux BIP BP BIP BIp, .... Plusieurs essais avant qu'il s'initialise. Entoilage se dtend trs fort avec la chaleur dans la voiture. Pas de pilote fourni

Received the Ryan in a good box. It was a little damaged on top of the fuselage because it was pushed to hard in a carton inner box. The model looks really great! Very nice details! Pity that the esc was not working out of the box! Not even a beep. Also the prop drill hole is not big enough and it is a bit risky to drill it bigger as you're not sure the center will stay exact. So I now have to buy a new prop and esc.
Still the model is a beauty!

The plane is finished as Ryan-STM rather than STA and scale proportions are not close. The wing is shorter span wise and the tail is 'way long. The model is well made and the over all quality is good. BUT the plane is quite heavy for the size and it is too darn small! It flies at scale speeds of mach 2 and stalls at a fairly high airspeed. It would be okay for a scale racing plane. It also has a high speed aileron flutter, so don't get your hopes up. My little Ryan REQUIRES the Orange flight stabilizer to remain in control. This was even with the control throws reduced and CG moved forward by 1/4 inch. Turn off the stabilizer for the wild aerobatics. It flies best with the 1800 mAh nano-tech batteries - about 10 minutes of sustained aerobatics. It can do a very wicked KE-spin due to the high thrust line and drag from the wheel pants. It's just too small to be much fun.

Great plane.. alot more maneurverable than I expected. Make sure battery is secure as I've had one come loose twice with bad results :( (I now velcro mine in place).. I also had a bad esc after the forth flight but easily replaced. Undercarraige holds up well on rough country grass sports oval.

Recommended ass third or forth plane... not for beginners.

brilliant plane build quality is exellent and arrived in good nick with all the bits and pieces. flew it today and cant pick a fault with it . if your into scale this is perfect, half throttle it will cruise around all day give it a poke and loops rolls and inverted are easy. love it .

Model looks fantastic. It all arrived in pristine condition. All parts were included except a y lead which is required. One point that may be an issue is the landing gear. The wire leg is fine but the balsa strut meets with the wing only on shrink film. This may be an issue if you land heavy. (may force the strut through the film) I hav not flown it yet so cannot comment on that aspect.

Great plane and easy to put together, The build looks and assembles really well. I have only had 1 flight with it till now as the weather hasn't been crash hot but it fly's like a dream.

Unboxing - All parts were immaculately packaged and there was no noticeable damage due to transport - The only thing I found was some damage to the fuselage near the front of the airframe where it looks like the balsa has been pushed in by pressure and the film covering it is all wrinkly (which is a shame as it is a beautiful plane)

Assembly is super easy though make sure you read the instructions THOROUGHLY first!!!! I would put the decals on first on the wings before the wheels go on as it was a pain in the ass to align them with the wheels already installed.

One thing missing with this plane is a 'Y' lead for your ailerons - Another pain if you don't have one spare!!!!!!

In the manual it tells shows you where to put the string through if you haven't done this before it can be tricky as they are elastic. Also my only other qualm is that I didn't receive any elastic string or screws for the tail and it clearly shows in the pics that it is supposed to be there.

Flying is great - Smooth and nostalgic looking and is super quiet

Great balsa plane overall and cant wait to see more Durafly Balsa series models in the future
