I have put this little EDF into a MPX Mini Solius as folding EDF. It works well powering this little (96g) bird controlled by a 10A Turnigy ESC. Also it is almost silent under power (@2S) - my unit is balanced fine. One thing to keep in mind is not to shorten the motor wires - they are quite hard to resolder properly.

nice EDF, with three major problems :
-the motor isn't well assembled with the housing (off centered) (or the problem is with the housing), but it is certainly possible to resume this because contrary to EDF 35, the motor is maintened to the housing with screw and not with glue. So the fan touches the housing, in my case, I used sandpaper.

-the front ball bearing go out after few seconds of use, I put out the axle with a little screwdriver that I hit with a hammer, you have to maintained correctly the housing, but it isn't too bad, the I glue the ball bearing and the fan. All the unites I have tested (3) had this problem.

-the motor has a lot of ride... So the big question is : how long will they last ?

For now, after these modifications, they work correctly with little vibrations (thanks it's a little EDF :-) )

So you should test them at 1/2 throttle and wait for the going out of the front ball bearing (I have test them only in 5V with 33g of thrust and 2,30A, put I think 2s won't be a problem) or put the fan out and try to putt out the bearing...

Not quite as much thrust as I was expecting. Fan is not perfectly balanced but it is not bad.

I'm not very impressed. Bought 2 of these for a small foam glider conversion. Both were off-balance. After a few minutes of testing at home one of the impellers shot off across the room, and I damaged it trying to get it back on right. Had to order a 5 dollar replacement, which was off balance too. The motors are TINY and don't draw nearly as much current as they claim above. At 8.2V they are only drawing about 3.2 Amps (26.2W), and producing hardly any thrust (didn't measure it). I got them balanced better by inserting some thin sandpaper between the impeller and housing. I may try a 3-cell on them to see if that helps, but so far they are not living up to anywhere near their expensive price tag.

it works fine with my turnigy 6 amps esc on 2 cells lipo. plenty of thrust, but a little unbalanced. the fan is made from some strong plastic since it came of after some tests and hit the ceiling and is still alive. nothing broke off. now i only have to glue the fan back in place and balance it a litttle. anyways, great fan unit for my micro jet that i am building for it. i made my connectors from some servo plugs from which i took the pins out. those pins work great for these small motors.
