De FLYSKY Paladin PL18 afstandsbedieningsradio is ontworpen voor precisievliegen. Het is ontworpen om intuïtief te zijn met een krachtige touchscreen-installatie. De Paladin wordt geleverd met 18 kanalen en het AFHDS 3-protocol. Er zijn zes modeltypes om uit te kiezen vliegtuig-, helikopter-, zweefvliegtuig-, deltavleugel-, multicopter- en technische voertuigen, wat zorgt voor een echt veelzijdige radio. Het pakket wordt ook geleverd met twee ontvangers, de FTr10 en FTr16s.

AFHDS 3 is een RF-technologie van de derde generatie die door FLYSKY is ontwikkeld met de PL18 in gedachten. Het is ontworpen om een lage latentie (5ms) te hebben, een stabiel protocol voor gebruik op grotere afstanden (tot 3.6 kilometer), zelfs in aanwezigheid van interferentie. PL18 is ontworpen om compatibel te zijn met veel afneembare RF-modules om de Paladin extreem flexibel te maken. Er zijn dubbele omnidirectionele antennes om ervoor te zorgen dat je het beste, stabiele signaal hebt, zelfs op grotere afstanden.

De installatie is eenvoudig met een gemakkelijk te begrijpen touchscreen-interface in combinatie met FLYSKY OS. Het scherm is een 320x480 capacitief kleurentouchscreen. Er zijn meerdere schakelaars (draai-, schuif-, 2-standen en 3-standen) die u kunt configureren zoals u dat wilt en met 18 kanalen zou u elke gewenste configuratie moeten kunnen instellen.

De Paladin wordt geleverd met verstelbare, zeer nauwkeurige Hall-gimbals die eenvoudig kunnen worden ingesteld voor de vier verschillende bedrijfsmodi. U kunt kiezen tussen zelf-retour of niet-zelf-retour sticks. Beide cardanische ophangingen hebben instelbare veerspanning, evenals aanpassing voor demping en max/min bewegingshoek.

Deze radio met afstandsbediening geeft je alle precisie die je nodig hebt voor extreem vliegen.

I was attracted to the PL18 because of its slim, quality feel, small size and Hall gimbles. I had some initial concerns over the low res display but I have to say its amazingly sharp for the spec, unfortunately its as bad as my Futaba screens in the sun, pretty much useless despite the flip up glare shield. Now that I have spent some time with it, I find the switches are a bit too far away for my small hand size. Other quibbles include clunky setup for advanced features, the 32 plane limit, no SD card, the lack of support for older Flysky protocols and the proprietary Flysky module socket. On the plus side, one can add an MPM to fix the protocol issue and extend capabilities. My bottom line with this radio is for the average bind and fly modeler its a huge value with great ergonomics and decent capabilities compared to other low/mid range radios. For more serious modelers I think the FrSky Ethos supported radios, especially the Tandems offer infinitely more support, capabilities and expansion options albeit at a significantly higher price.

The radio takes a bit of getting used to. I have had a couple of months on it now and have developed some understanding of the 'system'. I have range tested a few receivers and they talk back loud and clear. I will be flying with it soon.

A good radio

It works very simply and doesn't have a bit of otx on it. It has good reception and so do the ten and 7/8 channel diversity receivers. afhds-3
The screen is a humdinger and I sometimes hesitate when it says 'touch me' and when I touch her she responds accordingly. Binding is a cinch. I want to thank Hobbyking for stocking this radio and for sending me a very nice package of radio, rf charger, JR port adapter, mouse-pad and class 'A' packaging which is good enough to use again. I think this radio will last well and I am sure as eggs it has the best rf link you can buy now. Easter 2022

The tx arrive in time, but display was damaged - couple (5 or 6) of wrong color lines 1 pixel wide appear there. I saw the same problem long ago in reviews, so maybe they send to me a defective device deliberately.
Instead of solving that by reclamation , i stay on this. Prefer flying plane before watching TX screen. Sunlight killing the tft visibility even on 100% of backlight anyway.
With rev 55 firmware I'm generally satisfied, except of some minor problem. One of them is, that You could not activate voice to readout telemetry as You need, second one was sw failure. When I replace 2 way switch for 3 way, change sw setting for that switch (swg), middle position of the switch could be set in timer, but is not working at all. Thats going for Flysky fail, not the HK.

Lots of bang for the buck!

I cannot complain about anything on this radio myself. Love it. Feels better in my hands then my DX8. Only using it for surface vehicles at the moment. The voice is an oriental chick and just love the accent when she says something! I call her Lilu! For $285 it is a deal. For years I was afraid to step outside of Spektrum but glad I did. I use this on my ships and a custom Tamiya semi truck and it has been more then sufficient and does a great job. I will move into planes soon and see how it does there. Might even try a heli on it as well. But so far so good!
