This is my second HPRS airframe. The other, an MXS-R, was my first- and was one of the most technically-challenging airplanes I have ever flown. This airframe is similar but even MORE of a handful- while the MXS-R had stability issues at low speeds (dropping a wing due to too much elevator deflection was the norm), the Sbach has about 2x as much elevator surface area- it will drop a wing at any speed, or flip over, if you have the elevator throws too high or apply too much at once. However...this instability also makes this airframe one of the most satisfying and capable planes in my fleet. The roll rate is insane, snap rolls are dangerously fast if you're low to the ground- and it does fly on rails most of the time. Just be very, very careful to stay in the flight envelope. I have teh venerable NTM 3536 on 4s with the included 7x6 prop and an 80a esc, you would be wise not to go bigger than this for this airframe. :)

while the plane seems very well built and flies nicely ...... that is until insufficient glue holding the wing latches onto the wings allowed them to come apart on the maiden flight. post crash inspection found all wing retaining hardware intact both wing latches still clicked in place. I highly recommend taping the wings together before flying your aircraft I must say the aircraft took the crash rather well.

Great looking unit and goes together very well, nothing to gripe about the supplied hardware. Very unclear about the required motor, how about HK taking the time to supply a stock number to go with the recommended motor and at least make sure they are in stock or available on back order. Minus 1 crown or that.
It flies extremely good in the hands of an instructor pilot, for anyone else be prepared to replace undercarriage and or motor mounts with each flight. The high speed power on landing is a real turn off, minus 1 crown for that.
Money is better spent on the 1400mm unit, larger in overall size but kinder to the average flyer.
As I said earlier it looks great....... hanging from my ceiling.

Awesome! Great looking, great flying little plane.
Here it is.....it turned up without the 'female' part of the "modular" wing click together system, a bit disappointing, but with the mould already cut into the foam wing I just pushed it in there and hot glued it into place.
I won't bang on about the build, it's straightforward so straight to the flight.
I'm running the 2200kv 28 series NTM prop drive with the stock 7x6 prop on a 3S 2100mah and a 50a ESC
Now first of all I'm no guru pilot, I just like flying RC planes, the one thing you notice about this plane is its weight....850g with the battery in. This requires a bit of speed to get it airborne so I'm not sure how had launching would go.
This plane hauls arse...I have a Rarebear and their not dissimilar.
I've had 6 flights now and I've slowly dialed in more and more expo, I'm upto 65pcnt aileron and 45pcnt elevator and it feels about right now.
It's taking me some getting used to no dihedral (not returning to level flight) but makes for awesome unlimited knife edge circuits, if I can do it I assure you it's easy!
I love it, fast flying and fast aerobatics are its forte. The motor fits it perfect and cant wait to give it a rip on 4s....just getting used to first!!
Get the CG and expo right and it flies like its on rails. If you like going fast and some aerobatics, get this plane....I'm glad I did.

Just a quick one, ordered on the 20th turned up to my house in OZ on the 26th, that's superb....great job HK!
As far as quality and mods (if any) I will definetly report on after I build. As far as packaging and safe arrival goes, all good. Now I have to wait on my 28 series 3000kv NTM prop drive to turn up from the OZ warehouse so I can get this little beauty in the sky! Any suggestions on prop size for speed and a bit of aerobatics??
