I intended to use this with a e-flite nieuport. connected to zippy 800mah 2s 20c and a plush 10a esc. Startup up was jerky and abrubt. Tried a HK red brick 10a still same problem. Same with HK 8/10amp. Replaced motor with turnigy park flyer 250 of 2200kv. Big difference. Nice and silky smooth with plenty of power with all three of my tested esc's. Although it looks pretty and appears well made I still can't recommend this red HK motor.

Tried a 8x4 gws on 3 cell .....15 amps and hot motor. Had to go down to a 6x 3 prop on 3 cell and it would rip the little prop had to really stay on the throttle. Finally tried a 8x4 on a 2 cell and good performance I think it was at 10 amps. Next time out I will try a 9x4.7 on the 2 cell and see what I get. I would buy another one for a crack yak or 7 oz or less airframe with the 8x4 prop. It would be super on a 6oz plane.

Very compact and lightweight. I used this motor in a pusher configuration powered by a Turnigy 3S 800mAh 35-45C battery through a Turnigy Plush 12Amp ESC, spinning an orange GWS 8x4.3 prop.
It has great responsive power! But don't expect the motor to last if you don't manage your throttle usage appropriately.
In hindsight, I may have been able to avoid burning up two of these already by evaluating my setup with a watt meter first.

It took me a while to figure out the slowfly APC prop is the best. The GWS 8x4 was my first choice, but the hub on the motor is too small. I had to use the busing that came with the 8x4.7 slow fly apc prop and then after insertion, drill it out. Now the hub sits on the motor very well and with a tight O-ring, the balance is amazing. The trust is great and the motor flys warm on 2S as I 3D fly a 290 gram biplane from TechOne. I don't recommend any prop larger than the 8x4.7 as it will heat up the motor instantly. Super light and powerful, just be sure you get a tight prop fitting.

Just got one, very well machined, weight is true, relatively clean windings.
Didn't measure thrust yet but feels good!
I plan to use it with a techone spirit, keep you updated...
