This is the first plane that I have ever bought. I have enjoyed learning on it BUT it took a lot to get the plane balanced correctly. I had to cut a slot forward of the battery compartment and put the battery further forward to get it even close to balancing. I also removed the rear tail wheel to lighten the tails weight.
After I got the plane balanced it has been great fun to fly. I have crashed it many times and with a bit of glue and some patience it was back in the air. I don't know if I would recommend it as a first plane but with a bit of understanding of where the CG should be it should be ok.
I used a turnighy 2211 2300kV motor, a hobbyking 8-10A ESC, a zippy compact 500mah battery and a 6*4 TGS sport prop.

I received mine very quickly (from China to Italy). The plane looks very nice and all parts are very easy to assemble. All parts are well finished, good quality EPO, with some plastic parts and many screws, good packaging too. In my plane I had to cut out a little of the plastic window part to make the wing go snuggly into its place, otherwise the wing servo hit the plastic cabinet. I found only a mistake..in the tail, the elevator rush is blocked by control horn of stabilizer. Did you get the same problem? how did you figure out?

Nice little J3 Cub, as Wazza stated, you will need to gently remove windscreen/wingmount and re-glue to have the wing line up horizontally with tailplane. I always expect a certain amount of re-finishing is required with any ARF model. You could easily throw in the motor, esc and receiver but if you take your time with an evenings worth of effort you end up with a nice smooth balanced and stable little plane, all part of the fun :) Cheers, Dan

Carbon fiber rod placement. I drilled out a tight fitting hole through the ceter area where the servo is and pushed the rod through. I glued it only at this center section first. Then fully mount the wing on the plane including struts. then turn the plane upside down and place thw top of one wing half on a flat surface. I hung the rest of the plane off the edge of a sturdy table for this. With the wing held flat on the surface glue the rod into the groove. Repeat on the other half wing and cover with scotch tape. My wing now holds the dihedral when removed. and the wing halves are arrow straight along the leading edge. I have been away from this hobby for far too long and now coming back I wanted a small crash test plane so I could work the rust out of these old pilots thumbs of mine. this plane is doing just that. for the cost not bad at all. But I do not recommend this a s a first airplane. It requires way too much experience to get it to fly properly.

Good for the money. Gently work the canopy off, cut through the tranfers dont remove them, and then realign the wing with the tail because it's way off. I took out the battery box and cut the bottom and sides away leaving just the rectangular section with the door to glue back in. Then you can cut away just enough foam below the door section to roll a Turnigy 500ma 3 cell into the space. If you need more room for leads etc enlarge the entry hole to the cockpit. I then fitted a 26 gram motor and the plane then needed 15 grams of weight in the front. There is enough foam in the body to do these mods, just do it bit by bit. The plane is a good tough little backyard flier, a little sensitive which in my opinion teaches learners to move the sticks gently. Go for it and remember the guy who has never made a mistake has never made anything. Cheers Wazza.

Very very very poor instrutions...for begginers they say.... the begginer need instrutions for wiring, support motor....etc.

i don?t recomend.

I am extremely dissatisfied with this product. to top it off, along with the order, send me a wrong invoice in name of Michael Fink whit value of 378.49USD whem mine was 69USD, highest value which created problems in customs.

Pay for quick transport only today received the item with tree passages in customs.

I agree with Villas, it's a very nice looking little plane. The first thing I did was to paint the tyre part of the tail wheel black with a permanent marker to make it looking like the other two's.

I had to cut out a little of the plastic window part to make the wing go snuggly into it's place. But that's a minor thing.

I bought the recommended Hextronic 1700 Kv motor together with the plane, and made it sit at the firewall with the "regular" 4 degrees down and to the right. I used 2 pieces of 0.5 mm washers times two to make that. I have no idea if that is important or not since I am a beginner of aeroplanes. We'll see!

My new 610 2S Rhino's fits with a nice snuggle into the battery compartment.

I hooked up the motor today just for a small check up to see if it works, and in does. I will make some thrust measures later on when everything is in place. And publish them here if anybody is interested. I have some different props that I want to try out on this cute little one.

It's a very nice looking little plane. All parts well finished, good quality EPO, some plastic parts and many screws, good packaging too (mine was the first, havier box). Everybody get impressed with. Haven't flied yet, as the electronics haven't arrived, but seems to be a nice flyer, let's see.
