De Hobbyking® ™ Y4 Scorpion Micro multi-rotor frame is een hoge kwaliteit glasvezel kader dat zowel een fraai uiterlijk en prestaties biedt. de Y4 opgebouwd uit lichtgewicht nog extreem stijf glasvezel en koolstof, biedt een geweldige combinatie van gewichtsbesparing en sterkte.

De Y4 Scorpion styling maakt het eruit ziet als een dodelijke schepsel dan een multi-rotor frame, terwijl nog steeds een uitstekende functionaliteit en prestaties te bieden! De Schorpioen wordt ook geleverd met 4 x 2900kv borstelloze Outrunner Motors die perfect zijn afgestemd op dit frame, het helpen maken het bedienen van de aandrijflijn.

Deze multi-rotor frame is ontworpen voor gebruik in de "Y-4" configuratie gebruikmaking 4 motoren (2 gemonteerd aan de voorkant, 1 aan elke arm 2 aangebracht aan de achterzijde van yaw en liftbesturing), hebben we een grote collectie van multi-rotor elektronica zoals control board, ESC, accu's en nog veel meer, dus het is nog nooit zo eenvoudig of meer betaalbaar voor een multi-rotor te krijgen in de lucht geweest!

Nice little copter. Took me about 20 minutes to assemble the frame. The instructions are a little blurred, so it was kind of difficult to tell which parts you needed, because several are similar in size. Also, make sure you glue the tale AFTER you mount the motors to it. If you glue it first, then you won't be able to get the screws in. ALSO, it doesn't come with screws for the motors. The motors need 2mm adapters for propellers. The overall construction is good. Some parts are a bit tight, and hard to get all the way together. The frame is pretty solid after you get it together. The regular kk2.1 is too big for this little frame. I would go with the kk mini, or naze32, or equivalent in size flight controller. There is not much room for electronics on the body.

Flight review!

First off, no CG indicated in the skimpy plans! I used a ballpark from the position of the big brother (Y650 Scorpion).

It flies fairly nicely. Because of its size and weight, handles hard landings (crashes ;-) very nicely - nothing broken. Also due to its weight, it's VERY responsive. by the time you desensitize the gyros to where they're not oscillating you don't really have a "hands off" hover and always have to keep the corrections up.

If there's anything negative - and this will take more testing to try to work out what's happening - it's that the rudder seems almost ineffective. Just doesn't want to yaw. I did notice that one of the 2 motors on the back stops sooner than the other 3, it's possible it's not spinning as fast - not enough torque to yaw the little thing.

By the way, I'm using the Atmega 328 PA V3 board. Kind of large but was left over after I replaced the board on the 650 Scorpion (with the LCD one). If you use this board, don't flash the most current version of firmware, use the next one down (4.5 I think). The most current one doesn't work.
