FEB 2016: Bought these for a new project and they DON'T WORK AT ALL. NO FLASH, NO LIGHT!!! Applies to RED, GREEN & BLUE versions. -Have purchased an earlier version that were amazingly bright. After a long period of not being available they were back in stock, bought a new set & tested as soon as they arrived. To my disappointment none of them worked. Tried several different batteries & servo testers without success. Then I got one of the old ones out and it still worked perfectly. Inspection of the PCB components showed a different IC and different passive components placed on a PCB with the same layout positions as the original version. An oscilloscope also showed the pulses that drive the LED were nowhere sufficient (as compared to the previous version) to drive the LED. Very unfortunate! Started RMA process because Hobbyking needs to test the product before they ship. All of these came with a very spiffy looking holographic sticker with "QC5" printed it.??? Shows there is not integrity or ethical consideration for products coming out of hobbyking CHeap suppliers.

ITEM BROKEN. DON'T BUY TI'LL THERE IS SOME CONFIRMATION THAT UNITS ARE WORKING. I bought four and the only behaviour is a flash when first connected, then it stops responding at all. I tested the chip and couldn't find a problem with the electronics except for the IC (WS2811), which soes not seem to operate correctly with the PWM signal. Must have been a production error or even a planning error. Such a shame for a 5 star product.

Just received two of them both do not work plugged into spare receiver port the unite only blinks once blinks once .I have the stock six months ago or so that work just fine.

Great little strobe! I use double-sided foam tape to mount underneath my quads. Nice and easy to add a bit of flare to your craft.

You can turn led on and off by external channel on your transmitter.

Pretty bright. Two fast blinks then pause. In some background light conditions there is visible like one blink. I recommend to add some cap on the emitter. Gives much better effect.
