Great little EPO jet. I had the skyangel 50mm 4200kv motor installed in a 6-blade fan unit (not the flimsy stock unit). Flying with Rhino 1000mah 3s 30C, need around 1.5oz lead to balance. After balanced correctly I made a bad overhead handlaunch, but just caused alittle damage, easy fix and actually I handlaunched her right away underhand. She is a great flyer, even 3s flying great, loop and roll easy. stable inverted flight. drawing around 16-18 amps at full throttle, around 3 minutes flight. Great value. I need to get used to underhand launch though.

I've only done a few flights with this airframe, and I"m really loving it! This is my second 50mm jet (the first was the F18), and so far this one is a much nicer flier. The F18 is certainly faster, so if you want outright speed head over to that one. This F86 however, handles so much better when it's slow, has much faster stall recovery, better stall behavior, and of course landings are much easier. In spite of this, it's still more than fast enough for the average jet jockey (I'd guess 70 mph with my ADH300L 5800kv motor and 3s...the F18 will top 90) It also is much tougher, since the nose is blunt and won't break off with a minor mishap. Just a couple of downsides....first, this plane is larger than the f18 by quite a bit, mostly due to it's thick fuselage. That makes it a bit heavier, so this one does not have unlimited vertical, though it's still a good performer. The other negative is the battery compartment, which is TINY. I had to melt some foam away just to fit a 1000mah battery in there. Running a smaller battery would work, but flight times are only 2.5 minutes as it is. Overall, this is a great introduction to the 50mm series. It's fast, but a bit easier to fly than a "flying dart" like the F18.

Howdy Pilots, another Skyangel plane to write a good review for. I have had 2 of these and each have been more than a pleasure to fly. Parts fit together perfectly but you may find the odd distortion of maybe the vertical and or the horizontal stabilizers, mostly due to HK staff tightly bounding the kit with tape. Apart from that negative mark, this is a great model to fly. It is the most durable and forgiving plane I've flown and I always take one to the field when flying. She is small enough to throw into the boot of the car and leave it there for whenever the opportunity arrives when out somewhere and the urge to fly takes hold. I have done some wild flying and the odd mishap, hence having 2 of them, but I would recommend this model for beginners all the way to extremely experienced pilots, she's a lot of fun, and as stated earlier, extremely durable. I added a 50mm alloy HK EDF unit with a 25 amp speedie from HK and a Turnigy 1000mAh lipo and the COG was near perfect. This is not the fasted thing with wings but you will have more than your share of smiles from flying her. Cheap, but not nasty, get one. Blue skies... Allan

Arrived today with minor damage to wing and wing tip, fuselage and aileron, base of cockpit/battery cover has a 2" bow in it!! screws for the edf cover were loose in the giant box, the kit was not in it's own box, It was in an envelope of mainly flattened bubble wrap, laying flat in the bottom of a very large brown box, it had 3-4 layers of air bags on top of it but nothing under it! so every time the box was man handled the kit took the brunt of it! with bruising on the foam in a few places, The damage is only minor but it's annoying when you pay for a large box that somebody does'nt check to see if it's packed OK! you may as well post it in a much smaller box and pack it with the airbags AROUND the foam model! there was no damage to the very large box externally, anyway It's probably going to look much worse shortly (my first jet) but it does'nt seem so bad when you damage them yourself! four stars for LOUSY packaging, and I'll see how it flies soon.

Pretty slick little jet. Put a Dr MT 50mm 10Blade with a 4s 1300 25c battery and get about 3 minutes of flight. Very little mod needed to fit battery and fan housing; balanced perfectly with battery up at front of compartment and dropped into intake by removing battery compartment floor and placing CF crossmember across intake so battery will not fall all the way into intake.
This little jet tends to automatically level out like a trainer despite having no dihedral. Hand launches are absolutely a non-event as it just takes a little toss to get this thing going. I abandoned the drop tanks in favor of dental picks to protect aileron horns.
Would be nice to see decals; a couple of roundels couldn't be that hard to include. Plus there was a little warpage on the wing and vertical stab. 2 minor issues in an otherwise screaming deal.

Comes complete with the canopy. Flies and sounds beautiful for about 4 minutes with a zippy compact 4s 1300mah 25c and an alloy 50mm 4s version edf. The battery bay just needs to be cut and reinforced with balsa underneath to accommodate the battery. Also moved the edf unit more to the middle to get a proper cg.
