Nice printer for the money

Jun 02, 2018

It took me nearly three months to figure it out. I am printing through octoprint and a raspberry pi.

A great printer for the money.

Feb 11, 2018

This is a sturdy little printer. It's very well constructed and easy to set up. I had two bolts that had worked loose during shipping and needed to be reinstalled. Other than that it worked great, right out of the box. Print speed and quality are excellent. My prints stuck to the heated bed very well with blue tape. All in all, a great value and I would definitely recommend it. Shipping was fast and the printer was well packaged.

Few issues, but good printer

Jan 20, 2018

This is my first 3D printer. I've had it for 2 days now, and messed around with it a bit.
So far, I'm extremely happy with my purchase, but I've had a few issues:
- The wifi interface works well to control the printer (heating, moving around, etc), but it's terrible for actual printing. Uploading files is pretty slow, and fails as soon as the file gets over ~0.7MB. (NOTE: The SD card needs to be in the printer to upload!) Do yourself a favor, and either print direct from USB / SD card, or setup OctoPrint on a Raspberry Pi.
- The sample PLA filament printed fine for all I've tried it with, but I made the mistake of ordering ABS spools. It does print with ABS, but I've had warping & cracking issues with larger models. Both filaments adhere very well to black surface it comes with, in fact one of the larger models I've tried (a Raspberry Pi case) warped pretty badly, peeling off the black tape from the aluminium plate!
- The heated bed can't really go over 90°C, which is a bit cold for ABS, and might be related to my warping issues. (perhaps enclosing the printer in a box would help to keep the heat)
Other than that, prints come out pretty good, so I'm very satisfied.

Awesome

This is such a great tool for anyone with a little creativity and drive. The computer aspect is easy, with numerous websites that offer ready to size and print files, it's easy to get started to see the benefits of having this very cool tool around.
Very easy to take a 2d drawing from a simple online download CAD program (QCAD) and transfer to 3d software like solidworks.
Use the Hobbyking link for the driver on the product webpage

Working good so far. random notes for potential buyers

Jul 07, 2017

Just got around testing this printer, and its not all that bad.
Some issues minor issues occur due to how slow the Z axis is, but besides that it prints stuff out like a factory.
Things to note:
Make sure to level the bed before doing any test prints. (when it arrived, the bed was high enough to scrape into the bed!)

Might be a windows 8.1 driver issue, but seems like when trying to connect via usb, it keeps on randomly disconnecting and Temperatures aren't reading correctly. Printing via SD card or Wifi Interface works just fine so if windows is giving ya issues, use those instead.

Wifi interface was nowhere to be found on the sd card, but the malyan_link_setup_2016-07-08.exe can be found in the "file" tab of this product page.

So far I only tested PLA (works fine)
