THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOU BUY:
- The firmware on these ESC's, while decent, is not upgradable
- You can actually reverse motor direction by spinning the quad motors manually (like physically turning the motor with your hand.) I stumbled across this feature by accident and I can find no documentation of this anywhere. All you have to do is plug in a battery to your quad (REMOVE PROPS FIRST) and wait for the beeping noises. Then, spin the motor that you wish to change direction on. You should hear one beep. Keep spinning until you hear the second beep. Reboot the quad BAM. Reversed motor direction. You can only reverse a motor once per power cycle. So if you reverse one motor, you will need to reboot the quad to reverse that same motor again (unplug the battery and plug it back in.)
- Performance is, while not absolute top-of-the-line, is perfect for beginner to intermediate pilots. Advanced pilots may find the lack of features and software support a little disappointing, but these ESC's will do just fine for 75% of pilots.
- ESC calibation is done in betaflight (I think this is common practice, but just to be sure.) Set motor throttle to MAX in the motors tab after checking the "yes i have removed my props" box. Then plug in a battery. Wait for beep. Then, drop the throttle to minimum. You should here another beep. All done.
