I purchased this in hopes to utilize an older module based 8U Futaba transmitter. When installed the module worked excellent and was able to bind to both Orange Rx and Spektrum receivers. The only issue I have is that the channel sequencing on the transmitter is different than the sequencing in the receivers. Normally this would not be an issue as you would just connect the ailerons to whatever channel responds to the aileron control input. However when using a RX3S OrangeRX receiver the control surfaces are preassigned to a particular channel sequence. Unless your transmitter is able to reassign the channels you will not be able to use this with a stabilization receiver. The only way I can see to overcome this would be to use a standard Non-Stabilized receiver and then add the RX3S separately using the RS3X stabilization unit without a receiver. All things considered I am very happy with the unit. The little issue I have is a transmitter channel sequencing issue and not a module issue.

I have a 9Z Futaba that is still a great transmitter. I thought Id revive it with a Frysky module and that did not support the frame rate so got this to replace it. I have had several flights over the past few weeks since I had got it and all have been without a glitch till just now. It was browning out in flight. Id lose all control then regain it. This is on a cheap HK Foamy. As I attempted to land it browned out and crashed. Glued it back together and refreshed the bind and all seemed well in the workshop. Took it back out to give it a run and once again it crashed. I don't know why this is giving me grief all I know is that my Futaba FAAST has never once glitched. I cant be stuffed with the risk of this cheap crap anymore and will stick with brands I know work all the time every time.

No doubt about the price savings of this module compared with others, however I have some issues. I was using an FrSky module in my Hitec Optic 6 but saw the ORX receivers with Gyro built in and couldn't resist, plus the DSM2 option opens up the whole BNF market. Duly bought TX module and V3 RX with Gyro, but could not get it to work properly even with my simple foamie glider as I wanted to control the 2 ailerons separately and have aileron differential or flaperons. The two aileron servos seemed to defeat it. So then purchased the USB updater, waited (again), and reprogrammed from AETR (Futaba/Hitec) to TAER. Still could not get Gyro to work on both ailerons and have differential... HK answer was that Gyro on one aileron should still work, can't do anything else. I know this is picky but, it's almost as if the person designing it doesn't know what flyers might want. I won't be buying another RX until there is an update and I know that there are actually two separate (not one copied from the other) aileron channels. Plus the AUX control does not work for me, and I have bits of elastic band to hold the TX module clips open so it stays in place and does not rattle!

This really works, but you'll need to do the firmware update to convert Futaba's channel assignment to DMS2. Excellent Range also.

Just so you all know
THIS IS AN AIR MODULE, IT ONLY WORKS WITH AIR RECEIVERS, IT WILL NOT WORK WITH LAND MODULES, EVEN THE ORANGE LAND 3 CHANNEL MODULE.
Module tested in a Futaba 9z and works great, Tested in a Futaba 3pk and does not work at all although I have not tested it with an air receiver yet.
Features:
100pcnt Futaba compatible (works with any Futaba compatible module-based transmitter)
NOT ENTIRELY TRUE

Be sure to order the programming card to remap the module for Futaba radios, otherwise ARFs with Spectrum receivers with stability will not work correctly. Just moving the servo wires around will result in stability being on the wrong control surfaces. US store sells the module but not the programing card, have to go to Asian store, and I've been waiting for over 35 days now.
