Flown many Ultra Micro War Birds, this Nine Eagles is a great flyer, great floater. The snap off prop saver could be a bit fiddly but it always saves the prop for the hard nose landing. It cuts through mild wind well. I once flown it in 15mph wind, the plane gets knock around but is still controllable. Build is good and plane's weight had been kept low by the manufacturer. Great Value!

Perfect combo with Nano Tech 160mah Lipo. 8 minutes flight time.

I have purchased the P47, P51 and Yak Ultra Micro's. The best to learn on. The best for the park. The best for crash-proof.

P51 is easier out of the box to fly because it has more diehedral than the P47. The Yak is the toughest...zero diehedral. Beginners should start on the simulator to orient reflexes to the controller.

So light and quiet it doesn't frighten parents or neighbours.

The break away prop is fabulous and allows for grass landings without landing gear. The tail wheel should be removed too...the weakest link is the tail. Can dive into the ground/grass and pickup and fly again...not every time...avoid stationary objects...foam safe CA is all you need.

Has great range...sight is the challenge. Flies for 10 minutes, does great repeating loops or funnels...not quite ballastic power.

I share an RC fleet of 13 heli's, 11 planes, 6 cars and 2 boats...and the Ultra Micro by NineEagles is the best toy of them all!!!

Just returned from a successful and very fun maiden flight! I took everyone's advice to add a little more weight to the nose for proper CG. I took a small screw and taped it to underside of the nose, and it balanced out MUCH better. I hand-launched it with the landing gear removed, so I could belly land it in the grass of my local park. Like others have said, the ailerons are a bit weak. I almost crashed trying to do a basic barrel roll. So keep that in mind when you fly it. Loops were fine, just watch your altitude! I was surprised how nice and scale it looks in the air. This plane is NOT for a beginner! Very touchy on the sticks, even with the low-rates. I've been flying R/C for about 8 years, and it took a lot of my attention to fly it correctly. For the price, I don't think you can beat this plane. The only negative thing is the packaging. The vertical stabilizer was cracked and bent at the very tip. But an easy fix. Just bent it back and added a little clear tape to hold it. Thanks HobbyKing for making such a fun plane easy and affordable!

Excellent little flier. Seems to handle better than the P-51, but this could just be unit variability. Will pull up through an outside loop from inverted to level flight. Taped construction helps repairs, and the breakaway propeller is excellent.

I bought 2 of these with free shipping, one is bad, and the other is fine. Flies great after moving elevator rod out to furthest hole. Hot glue works great when you crash it.

When I received the plane the cowl was a little crushed in on the sides because the foam packaging that goes over it was installed backwards (narrow section towards the rear) when the plane was packaged in the box. That was kind of a letdown. On the first flight, I found it to be tail heavy as others mentioned and it wouldn't roll because it had almost no aileron movement. I took the top of the fuselage off and found the aileron linkages inside the plane to be all the way inboard towards the center of the servo arm, so I cut the tape over the linkages on the aileron end and slid them out so they were as far out as they could go and retaped them onto the wing and got much more aileron throw. I added noseweight and now it flies much better as it now will roll and isn't tail heavy. One more thing, both of the plastic landing gear mounts on the wing are glued in the same direction so when you mount the gear one is raked forwards and one is raked backwards. The mounts are glued on good and I don't want to damage the wing trying to reverse one of them, so it's just going to be hand launched on grass fields. Maybe I just got a lemon, it flies good now and I like it.

Just to let everyone know this plane is easy to repair. I have broken almost everything on this plane and it is still going strong. It will fly in strong winds but you have to stay ahead of it. Because of the amount of times I have cart-wheeled it is now a clipped wing P-47 (missing 15-20 mm) but still flies great. The only problem that I have had is the rudder servo crapped out and the only way to fix it is a new board.
