Quite good! But beware...

Mar 16, 2021

The good part:
INSANELY strong (albeit a bit slow).
The aluminium housing looks nice and probably does a good job at transferring the heat away from the motor and gears.
The bad part:
Big fat lie about the motor being maxon it is a chinese 1718 size coreless motor.
This is what a maxon looks like:
https://www.maxongroup.com/maxon/view/content/Overview-brushed-DC-motors
...and this is what's inside:
https://www.aliexpress.com/i/32983206932.html
Internal construction is beyond terrible. The motor's held against its torque by it's power wires. The control board has no mounting, it floats on it's wires. The connector is glued flat against the housing with an aluminium lug between 2 pins (insulated by the glue and the anodized coat?). The gearbox is dry, no trace of grease. Metal chips inside, etc.
After cleaning and rearranging the internals, it still looks promising. And the torque for the price is amazing.

Good servo, but wrong shaft

Sep 07, 2020

Hygh torque and robust full metal servo. A bit noisy. The aluminium wheel sits too deep on the shaft and touches the body so blocks the servo operation when pressed by screw. This is because of too long toothed part of the shaft. The plastic wheels are not brilliant they can break quite easily.
