I got my blue beauty around 2 months back, and got reading some stuff about what they can and can't do. So I decided to try them myself, it is said that they can only run on a 3 cell lipo, but after. I found weak solder on the motor bullet connectors, so resoldered them then left the canopy off to help with cooling of the ESC, then put a 4 cell 2200 lipo in her......and boy does she go well, I've done over 50 flights since on the original box standard motor and ESC. Loving every flight, it's a little powerhouse .... Value for money through and through

Bought this beauty a couple of months ago, and like most people I thought it could do with more power. So without changing any parts I put in a 4s 2200mah lipo and left the canopy off for better cooling, and it went like a bat out of hell. I found that by simply re-soldering the cables from the motor into the bullet connectors (making a better connection) it increased the power. I've successfully had over 50 flights on 4s batteries without any problems... Thank you Hobbyking for a beautiful plane

This is a great flying little jet. Fast right out of the box. Stable and controllable as you want it to be with your transmitter throw and expo adjustments. I flew with 40pcnt aileron throw and 30pcnt expo and it was darned near perfect. I adjusted the aileron throw down to 35pcnt until I get used to this little bird moving so fast. I've been flying WW1 biplanes and giant scale aerobatic birds so, the Stinger is quite a change for my slow reacting brain. The Stinger keeps me on my toes when flying close to full throttle but, she will also slow fly very nicely. She has plenty of power for hand launch and with a couple of clicks of up trim she will power right out of your hand with a moderate toss. I haven't tried an underhand release yet but, I'll bet she'll do it.
On landing, concrete will take your skids away quickly so it's best to land on grass if you can or be prepared to buy more skids at your LHS. She does land very easily with just a touch of power until touch-down.
HK has a winner here as you can see by the lack of stock. I was very happy to find it in stock when I ordered it about a week ago. If you want a nice, simple, affordable, and good flying bird you can't go wrong with the Stinger.
If I crunch this one, I'll buy another.

Wow, wow...wow. This is a great EDF!! Build was very easy, very quick. I maidened it today using Turnigy nanotech 2250 3s (65-130c). It did take 8 or 9 clicks of up elevator with this battery. I flew for 4 minutes...and battery read down to 11.3 v. Lots of battery left. I put 3 batteries through it today. On hand launch...it needs a strong toss, very stable, but it needs a bit to pick up speed and climb, keep the throttle pegged. Once at altitude with this battery it flies GREAT at a bit over 50pcnt throttle.

I liked the red one so much...I bought the blue one today...seriously. I've got a few edf sport jets. For the price, this one is GREAT!!! Even not for the price...this jet is great!!! Go ahead...don't think twice about it. It's worth it.

Great flying edf. I like the way it flies with the stock set up, using a range of 2200 3s lipos. CG at rear of finger holes. Easy to launch (fingers in holes, thumb gripping front of intake) and grooves around nicely, with enough power for loops etc. Comes in quite fast for landing and needs a good dose of elevator to flare. 4 crowns for quality due to brittle decals, which crack and come off despite a couple of coats of acrylic, otherwise it is a 5 crowner. Just come back from flying mine, and it is excellent fun for yer pounds sterling - go get one (if they are in stock :)
