this 4250/650 motor is great for my project

it work on a maxi-swift with shorter wingspam , 132cm or 52"

controler is turnigy super brain with aditional hyperion cooler

lipo flight power eon lite 6s5400 20c (2x 3s pack in serie )

prop is an aeronaut carbone 12x8 (not folding)

record flight by super brain tell this:

max current 75.4amps

mini voltage 19.7v

max power 1670.3 watts

max temps 48.5C (thanks hyperion cooler)

after 18 minutes flight , i land and touch motor and contro ,just warm , and cold after 5 minutes

total weight of wing is 2293g or 82oz

next time i check speed with radar gun , i forget it today !

you can see pics on my forum kilowattrc

later i made video and post on kilowattrc

wing fly well at low speed and fast speed , noise is incredible

i think speed is around 130-150kph or 81-95mph , nice for cheaper setup turnigy

i lauch with bungee , i use turnigy blue 5m 5m for strong power and 3m nylon wire

quality is not bad for price , just see in futur how many time it work

I purchased two of these motors for converting a Twin Star fuel plane to electric. First flight the end bell oppisit the power wires unscrewed in flight and jammed the motor. Disassambled the motor and installed two screws through the can and end bell. Next flight went great until the other motor did the same thing, should have fixed them both. Do not try to fix with Loc Tite used Loc Tite bearing and stud mount, the kind you cant undo. In this case it didnt hold at all. Now the plane flys great, can go stright up. The particulars are: two SK 42-50-650, two 60 amp Plush ESC's, one 5000mah 5 cell 30c li-po batt and props are 3 blade 10-7 one counter rotates and is a pusher. now i'm working on slowing the plane down after 15 - 20 flights I'm convinced that its just too much power and speed. This goes about 80-90 mph and nothing gets hotter then slightly warm. If i would not of had the end bell problem this would have been 5 crowns all around. Atta Boy Hobbie King!

I bought this to power a 3.5kg (7lbs) all up flying weight 1/6 scale Tigermoth 60" wingspan. Using a 60Amp Turnigy ESC and 5S 3600mAh packs. Turning a 13 x 8 E prop. This combination produces so much power it is unbelievable (far more than required). The model needs only a little over 2/3rd throttle to get airborne and flies on half throttle. Battery, motor and esc cool after each flight. IMPORTANT!! Make sure you have the TIMING SET TO HIGH on the esc. My esc was set to default medium at first and the motor howled like a banshee when I throttled up quickly. I did some research on the forums and people recommended the high setting. It works fine now. I think I will use this combination for all of my medium (.40 -.60) size models and will order some more when they come off backorder.

This engine can hold the propeller and look nice, but do not try to fly a plane you like well, my kyosho edge dropped like a brick in takeoff, the motor lost power(skviiiik!!!) and the result was 5 hours work to fix it.

The kyosho pitts have the same problem , the skviky noise comes between half to full power, and with this motors the planes are useless.

only good looking. I hope as a good (platina) costumer to HK they can recomand another motor that works well, so I can maybe fly my planes this sommer??? ...( all earlyer and later produkts bought from HK works well :-) )

I have bought this turnigy motors combined with turnigy 60 am speedcontroller in 2 kyosho airplanes, edge and pitts 40 class. I am not happy, I lost power in takeoff, and had a hard landing with the edge, I ordered a new motor (HK), but I can not relay on this either, the motors stops in bouth planes at medium to full power, and this is a big problem, I can`t fly the planes , they are only good looking in the garage... :-(

This motor has been a disappointment for me. Used it to power a 60" Tiger Moth (scratch built for 10 months) weighing in at 3.5kg, on a 13x8E prop, 60A speedy, 5S pack. First flight was fine. Second flight almost ended in disaster as the motor experienced bearing failure on take off (made a horrible noise). Never got over 3/4 throttle before this happened. Bearing failure and magnets detaching seem the be a problem for this motor. I wish HK would spend a little more on this motor in terms of quality components. I wouldn't mind paying the extra money for something that wont break after a 5 min flight on half throttle. I will provide an update on the engines performance after the bearing change.

Like other people that rated this motor, I had problems! Within 1 minute on it's first flight with a 5s battery, it threw a magnet and crashed the plane...Don't buy it !
