Very disappointed with my 9XR, it has been plagued with problems since day 1. Bought it to fly quadcopters with & has caused many crashes!! Sticks grinding, won't return to centre, need a recalibration every time I turn it on. Sometimes won't turn in a certain direction as the midpoint has changed to full right or left during flight. YES IT'S REALLY THAT BAD!!! Having said that though, a few of my mates also bought 9XR transmitters & theirs have been great. Mine however is a dud & has been replaced with a Taranis which isn't a dud..

I think it's great radio for this price.
It is working very well (for me) . I use it with FrSky 2,4 GHz module and it work properly together.

2200mAh 3s 40c battery is fit exactly.

The 9xr is a lot of kit for a very cheap price. I have friends that own these & have had no problems. Unfortunately I was unlucky & mine is a bit of a dud.I need to calibrate both sticks before I use it most times as they are never in the centre. Sometimes I am flying my fpv quad & have to hold the sticks off center when they uncalibrate during a 6 minute flight! My mates laugh at my mobius vids where it is obvious of the exact point in time the Transmitter has gone out of wack & I'm flying sideways, or on a tilt!! It has made me a better pilot though as I can fly in any conditions with a Tx that works properly now! I do like this Tx a lot for all it's problems & as I now have a Taranis I will buy new gimbals & try to fix it. If u get a good 9xr they are great value for money, but u may also be unlucky & get a bad 9xr. It's a gamble u take when u buy 1 of these.

I expected big things from this 9xr as a few mates recommend it as they have had no problems with theirs. Mine however is a real dud! Everytime I turn it on I have to calibrate the sticks as they are in every position but middle on the LCD screen. When I hook my quad up to cleanflight & do Reciever test the sticks never return to center. They are out by up to 30points with both sticks in all directions so it's not even worth adjusting. I realise it is a lot of kit for a very good price but these are problems with the most basic functions expected of a transmitter & mine is almost useless.

Love, love, love my 9XR. I'm running OpenTX on mine which gives me 30 model memory and tons of options. Also really like the OpenTX Companion software and donated to help support it. The ability to save and load multiple files of 30 models each? And the Model Wizard to setup a new model? Sweet. Really wish they would continue this model for those of us that don't need/want the voice, vibration, or telemetry features of the pro.

I've just bought my second one of these, my first kept intermittently losing signal to my planes crashing 3 planes! Just unlucky I thought? binned that one and bought another, it arrived with a broken display screen, had to post it back! cost me $20 postage, HK sent me a 3rd one, I've had about 10 flights of 5-10minutes and I pushed the limits on visible distances to my plane and so far so good, no problems! so maybe 3 times lucky?

Love the radio and used it for about 4 months now but it finally fail. No longer starting up which seems to be a relatively common problem if you're to believe what's written various forums. Power light comes on by no LCD. Apparently firmware corruption issue and most recommend to flush the native 9XR firmware with an open source alternative. I have not done so myself since there was nothing wrong with stock 9XR firmware (at least until it stopped working).
As far as features are concerned this has all that most other than absolute PRO would need. All your stock standard stuff more. I found the absence of internal antenna (or a connection for one) to be a nuisance since the standard orange module antenna is in a less than optimal location. Being able to run on lipo is great. Gimbals are OK ans so are the switches although could use more than one 3 position switch (i find it handy for multirotors). Ergonomics are fine although some switches are hard to get to while flying so side sliders would have been a plus. All in all solid 3 stars but probably would have given it 4 if the radio was still working.
Full credit to HK, a replacement was to me in just over a day so can't complaint about the warranty service.

I use it with stock firmware and OrangeRX DSMX/DSM2 Compatible 2.4Ghz Transmitter Module. Transmiter is more than great for that money! I fly drones without any problems. I was surprised about quality of the transmiter.

Mode I made is new stronger tension springs for sticks, so sticks are not too loose and too easy to move.

I also move transmitter module antenna from module to transmiter case on the back.

I I recommend it for all beginners and pro :)recomend it for all beginers and pro :)
