Reliable Setup, Tested with INLETLIP & Nozzle dia. 62mm: L2855-2300KV & Changesun CS 70-12-Blade. Max. good for 4S (used SLS 2650mah) , used ESC: Hobbywing 100A Pentium, Timing 15, PWM 12 Khz. Starting at 63A / 890W settled at 58A / 840W = 2,8 kg static thrust (NOTE: Static thrust means NOTHING at all ! The CS 70-12-blade due its very rigtht angled blade design has a quite bad eflux, if nozzle <62mm the airflow brakes dow a lot - meaning your jet will not do to high speeds. I used in the same jet before a WemoTec Pro 70mm 9-blades - and it was going MUCH faster, even on a 56mm nozzle).
For a not to fast Foamy Jet the above combination L2855-2300 & CS12-blade might be a nice option - nice almost steahlth soung and a good thrust for starting & landing manouvres.

Great Motor on 5s turning Changesun 70mm 10 blade. Interesting mod. The CS10 EDF housing is very inefficient due to the blades at 90 degree to the fan. Use the Freewing 70mm housing with Changesun fan. More thrust and 48 Amps settled.

So far this has been a good motor but my main gripe is that it doesn't come with the mounting screws and they are hard to find.

Like ANLUCAS in the discussions above I too am using the L2855 2300kv motors in combo with both the CS10 & 12 fan units on 5s lipos. So far they have been thoroughly reliable even though they are punching way above their weight pulling 1100-1200 watts @ around 60 amps. Yes they do get hot but I only ever use full throttle for take offs & launches as well as the occasional burst while flying.
I have one in my Durafly Vampire which has had dozens of reliable flights & another more recently in my Lander Panther. They are quiet & smooth & provide good thrust as well as sounding amazing. I have tried 2 expensive Cyclone inrunners on these fans but found both to have warped shafts straight out of the box. For a third of the price these little motors are a stand out bargain.

I am using this motor with a 70mm 12 blade Change Sun EDF, 6s 2200 60-120 burst battery through an 80 amp esc. this motor works great. Turnigy have built in so much redundancy to this motor it handles this set up effortlessly.

Used on the HK Vampire with a CS70 10 Blade fan, Turnigy 3ooomah 4S 30C Batteries and std Vampire esc. 20gms of thrust down on the standard vampire fan/motor combo, but flew fine and what a great sound!!! Will try 5S though. Great motor Hobbyking...

great motor i use it i the 10 blade fan on 6s 2200 mah 25c-50c nano its pulling 1200 watts and about 50amps motor always comes down quite warm but cooling isnt great. in the fan ive made some holes in the case on the fan for better cooling it can definately handle 6s.

I purchased this motor to power one of the new 10 blade 70mm fans from Hobbyking. Before flying it in my L39, I bench tested it with 4s and 5s batteries. With 4s I was drawing 16 amps at full throttle, about 250 watts. Unfortunately, at this power level, the L39 will just not fly. With the 5s it drew 25 amps and flew about 50 yards. It just would not accelerate to a flying speed. I am flying at 4000 feet, so it might work better at sea level. I don't think you want to use this with a ducted fan and a 4s or maybe even a 5s battery. BTW I tried it with a 5 bladed fan and had the same result.
