This the worst charger, it has many firmware bugs and none technical support form HK to solve my problem.
So really do not recommend you to buy it!

I'm very pleased with this product. Charges my 3S batteries up to 4.20v per cell without any issues. I like the stat and graph screens that show charging progress. I use this with a RadioShack 13.8VDC 19A Power Supply and it works great. You might have to make cables to match your batteries, but it uses banana plugs so it's easy.

The frimware have many bugs, if you are using for Lipo, Lion and Life ok, but when yuo try to use it with NiMH or Nicd, forget the firmware get crazy and creat many error info on the display.
I really do not recommend.!!!
I try to get any FW update but HK didn't support me on that... so Now have a garbage on my lab.

Charge function seems to work well but the unit I got did not discharge. Got an RMA to return it for a replacement so I'll update the review if the new one works as it should.

What about "TEMP OV" error during balancing (when one of cell have 4.20v, & others less. for example 4.20 4,18 4,19)?
1 year it chadge good, and now i can not use device

Love this charger! So far there hasn't been a battery it couldn't fully balance, love the graph screen and being able to store charging/discharging profiles. My only "wish" was that this could charge multiple batteries at the same time but then again, for the price I'll just get another charger :)

During 2 years - work good.
But now i get error "TEP OV"

After bulk charging, after few seconds after begin balancing, get internal temperature = 01, and stop with error.
Its not hardware bug - electric signal from internal temp sensor normal.
Hobbyking, DO the FIRMWARE update!!!
Cause this error i cant use this device.
Please, please, please !!!

Got 2 Smart6, both with POWER error after a short time. HK refused to warranty it, so better stay away from it.

-Destroys itself
-No storage
-No balancing during discharge
-Small display
-Not calibratable

When my charger arrived, there was something rattling and then I noticed the LCD was out of place. A screw holding it in place had come loose and was rolling around inside. It could have easily shorted something if I had powered the charger on. I took it apart and put the screw back and the charger works fine, but I took off 1 star for quality...
Also, the internal resistance function doesn't work well. After I use it, I have to turn the charger off and on again or the next charge cycle wont work and it begins to misread the voltage of the cells. Even so, the values it gives me tend to be random with a different reading each time I use it on the same cells, so it's somewhat useless. Hence, another mark off for value..
Otherwise, it's a great charger and still pretty good at 4 stars :)

Really nice, accurate on each cell, you can disable the buzzer, I really like it
