This superb Texan features a high quality fiberglass fuselage with an integral center wing section which also houses the retractable landing gear (not included) also available from Hobbyking and specifically designed for this model. The wing & tail feathers are balsa and are plug in 2pc for easy transportation, both the wing and horizontal stab are bolt on for quick field assembly.

The finish on this fantastic giant scale model is a realistic matt paint and features high quality, pre-applied water slide decals for the final touch, a good quality hardware pack and fuel tank is also included, as are instructions. The Texan is designed to accept a gas engine from 35cc upwards, this model is also perfect for an electric conversion due to the large canopy which can be removed in seconds, there is a huge amount of space in the fuselage to accomodate the size of lipoly packs that would be needed for a giant scale model flown on electric.

With the high level of detail, matte finish, accurate outline and generous size, this AT-6 is a scale modelers dream and with the right power train fitted, performance will be superb, the split flaps coupled with the suprisingly light flying weight will keep landing speeds right down. There is no doubt that this Texan is a high quality composite model at a realistic price which would turn heads at any airfield!

It has been six months now and no resolution to my fuselage which was damaged during shipping with pictures etc. Beware, if your plane is damaged from shipping, you have bought it with this company. Worst customer service on the planet

Just received my AT6 Texan, Box was all to pieces from UPS. Hobby King will not stand behind the damaged fuselage and wing. I am shocked at the lack of customer service Hobby King has presented, especially as much money as I spend with them. Done now, have a useless amount of fiberglass and balsa. Shame, the plane looks really nice if it was not damaged. Anyone know how to fix fiberglass?

I retract my statement. They look great but they break very easy. They made the locking pin out of aluminium and it should be made out of steel. Other then that they work.

The plane is nice But UPS destroyed the some parts either missing or damaged. The box looked like it went through a war .HK wants 2 to 3 months to replace the parts.

Great flyer - but lots of quality issues

Powered mine with a 30cc gasser which provides plenty of mumbo, retracts are absolutely rubbish - it took two sets to make one set that didn't leak !

Model required 2kg of lead over the engine to balance. AUW is approx 9.5 kgs

Second flight had a wheel hang up high G turn to dislodge the wheel resulted in a bend wing tube !!!...........make sure you replace the wing tube with C/F or double tube aluminium. (19mm )0 /dia.

Hot glue is rubbish so make sure you Hysol all the engine box and all formers to the glass fuselage - replace the crap undercarriage mounts as well - the ply wood as poor quality and easy split.

Once all the issues are sorted it does fly well

Hi this one is very tailheavy, I have an NGH 38cc 4 stroke in mine and it still needs 1 kg og pure lead above the engine to get the CG correct. All RC is put as far in the front of fuselage that it is possible, Flies quite well, but the landinggear set and installation needs a lot of work to stay in one pice and place.

Got both the AT-6 and the retracts for Christmas. Initial inspection for quality, workmanship and value is very good. As with any ARF expect to find a few surprises but what I've seen so far is amazing for the price.

HK please plan on bringing out more 30cc and 50cc Warbirds.

Very nice model. Not for the beginner, has a few constuction issues but if you have assembled a few gasser ARF's you will be fine. I fitted A DL 50 and had to turn the piston and head 180 to get the muffler to fit. Elevators hookup looks a bit dodgy (2-56 clevises with slop on the threaded push rods) Have moved the servos into the real fuse and used quality clevises. Came with all the hardware which was good qulaity (exept for the elevator hardware) The retracts (not included) don't quite fit but we aeromodellers can overcome these setbacks. I will post more as the build progreses.

I just received the Hobby King retracts today that are made for this plane. Try are a work of art. If they work as good as they look I well be very pleased.
I have not started on the plane but as soon as I decide to go gas or electric
