Park Scale Model's mission has been to provide high quality, easy to build laser cut model kits at an affordable price.  PSM owner Zeke Brubaker has a design philosophy that all models should be easy to construct for anyone with basic modelling skills, use low cost components, excellent flight characteristics, maintain scale outlines where possible, and incorporate scale detail.

All Park Scale Models designs are developed using state of the art 3D CAD modelling software and feature interlocking parts to ensure precise fit and alignment with no need to build over plans. Every kit is produced in the USA using high quality, hand selected wood from Balsa USA.

Novice and expert builders alike will appreciate the low cost, scale outlines and flying characteristics of the Park Scale Models© aircraft. Simplified construction, low parts count and interlocking/self-aligning design ensures building success even for the novice builder.

The Mini Drake is engineered to build fast! You can have your plane built and ready to fly in as little as 10-12 hours.  This means you get to spend less time building and more time flying. Plus, the "No Plans" construction means you can build virtually any time and any place you have a small flat, stable work surface!

New pilots will appreciate the slow and stable flying characteristics. Durable all balsa construction and low weight help to minimize possible damage from flying mishaps. Should any damage occur, most repairs can be made in the field with some CA glue.

Experienced pilots will love doing up close low-n-slow fly-bys, shooting touch-n-go’s and exploring the flight envelope with mild aerobatics like loops, spins and stall turns.
One of the hallmarks of all Park Scale Models© designs has always been low total airframe cost and this extends to the Mini Drake as well. Costs are kept low by utilizing low cost, conventional micro RC gear.

So very light weight material, challenge just separating the parts from the cut out section with out breaking them. Needs very nimble, soft, girl hands! The balsa has the strength of wet tissues, even using the lightest covering that I could buy, when taking out the wrinkles, the wing just twists and bends. No good for my poor skills, very good modelers only! Hopeless.

Bought one of these for my grandson. He has been building display models for some time, & wanted a real one to build. It proved too hard to figure out for him, or his non modelling parents.

The last couple of days I tried to build it advising him, not doing it for him. The balsa is too light, & the fit too tight & difficult for a preteen. He was breaking many pieces trying to fit them together.

We switched to a HK Old Eagle, & it saved the day, going together fairly easily. One of the DW models, Dancing Poke or Pits would have been more suitable , & quite complex enough for a younger kid to build. The heavier ply is easier to work than the very light balsa.

I have put the Drake away for me to build one wet weekend. It is a nice kit, but not for the young or inexperienced.

Great flying and capable little plane. Keep this thing as light as possible, every gram counts. I'm running mine on ultra micro gear and a small 2s lipo to keep the weight down. Pulls strong for a hand launch, row, grass, or even snow. This thing will not disappoint with it's easy and quick build. The laser cut parts are all tabbed and slotted making alignment a breeze. As well as a full build page on rcgroups if you do have any questions during the process. I strongly recommend for anyone looking to build a flying boat.
