Grabbed one of these for a cheap add on for a Losi-XXX SCB. For less than $13 it's a steal. Unfortunately, you can't fit it in most rear mounted motor placements as the motor has to hug the trans. I shaved off/ground down(carefully to avoid over heating the can) some of the fins and was able to make it fit. The XXX-SCB is now wicked fast. I kept the tiny pinion that came stock(can't remember the teeth count, but it's really small, teeth barely larger than the pinion body itself). On 2S and solid grip it easily pulls the front tires up and carries them. 3S is just stupid! Careful use of the throttle is mandatory. I will agree that this motor tends to run hot, but people have to realize that a 4600KV motor is a pretty "hot" motor to begin with ......SO GEAR DOWN PEOPLE! If you slap this in place of your 3500KV in your 4x4 and drive the same you are bound to burn it up if you don't drop some pinion teeth(or raise your spur gear count.) I have run it quite a bit and have gotten my $13 out of it. I do see signs that it's life might be short lived from here on out, but I'm happy enough to have bought 3x more

Not a bad motor for the money. Crazy thrust, explosive motor. And now the cons: Quite a strongly heated, rough.

this motor is perfect for 1/10 scale, it has plenty of torque and lots of speed with just 3s lipo. got lots of wheelies and never gets hot when geared conservatively. couldn't get any faster than 56mph on 3s but could do more with a 4s if i had one. Also I would not recommend this motor for 1/10 scale cars, it just has too much torque. Anyways it wouldn't even fit in most true 1/10 cars. but it would be perfect in 1/8 and i wouldn't even using 5s lipo, 4s is just enough power!

For some reason my crown rating was not saved in the last review...I wanted to be clear that I would not recommend this motor for RC applications. You will need to rebuild it...and one you fix the snapped shaft, several new problems will emerge with the bearings and magnet temperatures

I think the people writing in the discussion section have not used this motor much and are only excited about the specs...maybe I'm wrong, but I don't believe some of the posters have really used this motor.

It gets very hot very quickly and I doubt the bearings or magnets will hold up very long with the rpm and heat. You better have a solution to the heat, air cooling won't cut it.
The 3mm shaft also snaps very easily right at the taper from 5mm. I rebuilt the motor, but it's a considerable effort and I was not able to deliver enough force with a standard HF 1 ton arbor press. I had to use a much larger press from a machinist friend to deliver enough force. The magnet and aluminum spacers are super glued on the shaft and removal is very difficult. I wonder if rebuilding the motor was a good choice...since after running for 2 minutes the bearings were already showing problems...I suspect I'll need to replace them with ceramic hybrids to hold 80K rpm
For the price, it's an interesting experiment if you like rebuilding motors (I do)...but don't expect this motor to last long in any RC application, it has several failure points and I suspect this is why it is priced so low

Put in an emaxx with 2 NiMh batteries and HK 120am esc. As others said, the motor got really hot, over 200F (93C ).

The real problem was it overheated my nimh batteries (170-190F, 88-90C), and frequently tripped liPo cutoff on the ESC which I had forgotten to disable.

Although it went faster with the brushless system, it wasn't that much faster than the stock titans to be worth all of the extra heat. Lower gearing would help, but would reduce the speed.

I guess it was neat having a $55US emaxx brushless system (but we're going to put the stock component back)
