Very fast, Very stable

Nov 10, 2017

With stock motors and props, 38 mph on 3 cells, 52 mph on 4 cells, very stable at speed but be careful turning, don't hit the throttle hard while turning or you will flip. Handles choppy water fine, actually ran smoother in chop with 4 cells at higher speed. Excellent boat and value !

It Doesn't mention it but mine came with contra rotating props. Very stable, fairly quick on 3s but not mental.

As the description says, this boat is fast. I fitted it out with twin 125amp ESC and 4000mah 3S batteries. I had to put a couple of bends in the rudder shaft to get the shaft under the hull structure due servo size. The finish is excellent and smooth. The instructions are limited so some experience is required to set it up properly. The use of the tape to waterproof the cover is not ideal but it did work pretty well. There was some water in the hull afterwards. To grease the prop shafts, undo the motor bolts and collet then slide the shaft out and apply the grease. Reverse procedure to refit. This boat is extremely stable at speed but do not attempt to turn quickly at speed or it will tip over. Very good value and worth it. Enjoy.

Note: I bought the 70amp SS HK speedies to go with each motor.

OK, so first run out I ran each motor on 2 cells (7.4v lipos) for the steering I use a spare traxxas steering servo from a Emaax since it water proof and an old 1/10th car speedie to power the servo & RX.
First thing I learned - the boat dont turn really well until you punch it and get it plainning :-) thought it very cool. After the run however - the lipo packs got thumped! They were pretty hot as were the motors, speedies not so much. Also found alittle water in the back near the booty for the servo rod - grease rod and add some extra CA to the boot where it meets the hull = no more water at all!

Next run I tried running both 2 cells in series to make 4 cells (4S 14.8v) but with in 5mins the packs got so hot one of the wires got too hot and melted the solder. :/

So checked the water flow system and it was all good, then I pulled out both motors and the drive shafts (Not that hard to work out square end to the prop shaft and collar setup to the motor), there was no grease down the flex drive - only where the square end runs in to the prop bolts. The motors felt a little... well the bearings felt a little hard, so I greased up the flex drives and put them back together and used bearing lube on each end of the motors - then put them back in.

Took it for a test with 2 x 5000mah 40~80c 3 cell lipos - one for ea

Fantastic boat!!! great looking, runs just like the real thing and is easy to drive.I used a lot of the suggestions i found on forums and stripped the boat down first to properly lube the drives with PTFE grease, reinforced all the mounts with 2pac epoxy, thread locked all the screws and dressed and polished the props.Im using the Hk ss 70a esc's and turnigy 3S 3000 and 4000 batteries. The twin motors really give the boat that authentic look.Ive just ordered two 4500kv motors and the "blonde dynamite" decal set to put on the front topsides (just the girl) should look fantastic.

Hi all, I bought this boat in November 2011 the motor stopped working in the first week . Today is 15 June 2012 and I am happy to say the motor has been replaced. I had already upgraded the motors and with 4s battery's send this thing like a bullet . Even with the extra long wait from HK customer support and replacement of the motor this boat is well worth buying, forget about getting things replaced if they break, just get a new one and get on with the fun. Hope you all enjoy:)

This is a great boat! for the price it cant be touched. You will need a ESC,servo and lipos but well worth it and would recommend to anyone looking for a fun solid boat. The only thing i didn't really like was the location of the water outlet, it gets in the way of the batteries.
