This engine is powering a "kit made" GP Ultra Sport 60 It's kind of a pattern ship/funfly. The engine was broke-in on the rich side for a tank full and flown in the air to Finish break-in.. broke in with 12x6 flying with 13x8 Idles well quick response when throttling up doesn't hesitate. Bought at HK 1/2 year sale for a steal which will offset the cost for glow fuel Great engine thanks HK!5 stars power per ($) superb. However, I would suggest starting with a 13 x 8 propeller.
I have a Seagull Edge 540, and use a 14 x 6 wooden propeller, which is lovely to fly, a real hot cookie!
I have now had three of these engines, use standard plugs and Weston Fuel, 5pcnt nitro-methane. One was in a Sports cruiser and the other two in Edge 540'sI must have got a bad one! The vibration it puts out shook all the servo screws out. Lucky I was checking after short flights. The muffler won't stay put. Keeps turning and spraying the plane with oil. Now the switch has just lost the screws. It's a pity, because it puts out a lot of power. Using the recommended prop. Tried others, same. All balanced, everything checked. The club "Guru's" have been over it and can't find a solution. Buy an OS is the cry at the moment. But it's great except for the infernal VIBRATION!Nice engine, looking well and quality looks very good.
It is an easy starter, breaking in with the 12x7 prop, after 2liter of fuel changed to a 13x6 APC. Gets running better and better now. Im using it on a Goldberg Piper wiht clipped wing, this is very overpowered :) going to the stars in no timeNice motor with reasonable power. Exhaust gasket and rear crankcase gasket should be replaced with silicone gasket maker.
This motor appears to be the same as the Magnum 91 two stroke however Magnum recommends using a 14x6 prop but ASP recommends only a 12x6. Not sure why they are rated differently.
Use loctite for exhaust bolts.recieved today,two broken nipples,luckily i was able to remove the broken parts fron muffeler and carburator.no remote needle valve,the rest seems okbuy this engine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you will not go wrong i have one on a seagull models seafury and it sounds great it has a superb low idle and bags of power when you need it and this is with 10pcnt nitro and 18pcnt lubricant the engine sounds great so don't pass this great engine you will not regret it!!
