Ordered thisf or my wife after she watched me race recently. She now wanted her own 4x4 sct since she plans to get into racing with me. Great truck. The sale was a big cool thing too. Anywho, the truck arrived safely and looks to be a well built machine. The aluminum parts are a nice touch but the shock oil is too thing and the shock have much rebound. I am going to change the shock oil for her and see how it does. The truck handles much like the Trooper. In fact, this is more or less the Trooper with more "bling".

Very rugged and durable. Best of all if you do break something parts are inexpensive and easy to replace. Great vehicle for newbies and can be upgraded with more power and speed easily.

This is truly an awesome truck for the value, I have had mine for almost a year now and have done some pretty intensive bashing with and i absolutely love it! Although there are a few things that I would like to 'warn' people interested in buying this about. these are; the stock esc will last on 2s i believe but as soon as you make any vehicle or electronic modifications(i.e. change timing, pinion, larger wheels, 3s) it will die. The stock body is very flimsy and will soon enough need replacing. I dont know if this one is common or not but my shocks were leaking and had to be replaced. And my steering servo has ended up stripping after about 8 months.

Even with a few minor downsides this is well worth the money I thought I would just give people an idea of some of the upgrades they may have to buy.

First off this truck is an excellent value for what you get but it will need some changes out of the box and has a few quirks. Your going to need to replace the shock fluid with something thicker. I used 60 for the shocks and that took the springy out of it. The diffs only come with a light coat of grease on them but the diffs are sealed so I filled the front and rear with 10k/middle with 60k. The diffs only come with one set of spider gears in each diff so I recommend buying another set of spider gears for each diff to add while your filling them with oil. The diff cups are set up to accept 4 spider gears so why not do that.

More concerning problems are that the rear turnbuckles rub the chassis a small amount at full suspension compression. You can grind the rear of the chassis or slightly bend the turnbuckles. The front bumper will constantly fold in behind the body. The only solution is a different shorter body. HOBBYKING please address these two issues.

Onto the electronics. Mine actually came with an upgraded 60a esc which I haven't been able to even get warm yet driving in 50-80 degree weather. This allowed me to gear my pinion up to a 16t mod 1 pinion on 2s. I plan on trying a 19t pinion next. Btw. This model comes with a .8 pinion with 1/8 shaft diameter. The spur gear is actually mod 1 pitch. This causes the gear meshing to be very loud so if you want

This car is absolutely powerfull with a 3S. And Hobbyking was so friendly and sent me one with a 60Amps esc. But you can save some money if you buy the Turnigy Trooper which is basically the same car.

Very slow on 2S as stock would recommend trying 3S straight away now it has a 60a esc however for the money you cannot complain.

I brought mine with the intention of buying a new ESC, motor & servo straight away and primarily using this as a chassis kit. Even after the new parts and batteries it is still over 100 less than any other popular club racing SCT I could find.

Would score it a 5 but the stock body shell pops over the front bumper on impact which is very annoying and trashed the shell unless you stop and put it back.

great sct everything on this truck is great the only thing I changed is the shock oil as standard oil is a little to soft the truck jumps grat and has a desent speed on 2s a lipo

This truck is a beast. I have to say that "for the money" this is, hands down, the best value out there. I have upgraded the ESC and motor to a Mamba Max Pro SCT 2400kv 1415 series motor combo and this truck handles it like a champ. It already comes with many upgraded parts, the only issue is with the body mounts; they break pretty easy, but are an easy fix with spare parts I had on hand. I made my own and they work just fine. I am very impressed with HobbyKing. They have brought a real contender to the RC world.
