Here is the Crash Cash Winner for October:

R. Scott Page with his H-King Flycat

1) Where are you from and how did you get into the hobby?

"I live in West Richland, Washington, USA. I was born into the hobby six decades ago. My father has been an avid modeler and accomplished pilot since before I was born. He taught me to model and fly beginning in my youth. When I was old enough to have discretionary income and time I then shared the hobby with my sons, and now my grandsons are learning with the RealFlght simulator."

2) What’s the story behind your RC model and the crash?

"This model was my good friend Gary's first attempt at an EDF. This was the maiden flight. The crash seemed to be a combination of him not being acclimated to the speed of the aircraft as well as the battery not being up to the task. The aircraft was too slow in the first turn after takeoff and after dropping a wing it plummeted to the ground utterly destroying not only the aircraft but also Gary's interest in EDF jets."

3) What's your favorite RC model and why?

"My favorite model changes depending on the weather and my mood. In winter or on a slope I enjoy the Durafly Excalibur, when float flying I love the Avios Albatross and Grand Tundra, and for speed, I love the Durafly EFXtra."

4) What's the best part of being an RC pilot and why?

"Without a doubt, the best part of being an RC pilot is interaction with people. The folks at my current club, Tri-City Radio Control Modelers, are the best bunch of guys one could have for friends. I know some clubs have discord and petty bickering but this group of folks work together for the common good of the hobby and support each individual pilot and their interests."
