Ok Great for the Price! Really well built, the foil has a great shape, there is a little building to do but nothing that challenging if you've build a model from scratch/kit. With the one meter wing/foil span it's handy just to whip it out and have a fly. It is a bit on the heavy side but better fun on a little slope. All in all, good build, flies well.
This glider is beautiful. I used water based lacquer with a satin finish, I love it. Haven't flown it yet however.Mein erster DLG, nicht mein erster Art Hobby, ist eine Menge Arbeit und eher was fr Leute mit Bauerfahrungen. Dafr bekommt man ein sauber kontruiertes Modell mit hoher Festigkeit fr recht wenig Geld. Es flog ohne nachtrimmen direkt beim Jungfernflug - schnes Modell ohne Zicken. Setup: FrSky D4R-II, Taranis , DMDL-VBoster, 2x FS-31 (Aile), 2x DS65HB(Ele, Rud) , LiPo 1S 500mAh, 275g inkl. Akku.
Die Lsung von der Wurfpinbefestigung, man solle ein Stck Trinkhalm nehmen, fand ich nicht so toll. Ich hab ein Buchenrundstab durchgebohrt in die Tragflche eingesetzt und da den Pin eingeklebt. So knnen die Krfte sich besser verteilen
I got this to fly from slopes and as it's discus launch it should be possible to give it a good throw and have it return safely however light the wind is. I've flown it in light wind and it' great! I have not flown it in no wind yet though. I'm not sure how good it would be for DLG as the wing loading may be too high. The tail & fin are just 16" balsa & I've damaged this just in transport. I have super glued to fix it & added clear packing tape to reinforce and this works fine but all this adds weight which is a serious issue for pure DLG. I covered the wing in solarfilm. The fuselage is excellent. On the slope, this is terrific- it has the feel of a modern glider and it penetrates well in moderated wind speeds. It is quite fast. For what I want, this is fantastic.I built the glider with two DYMOND DS-50 MG in the wings, and two Newpower XLD-9 for ELE and RUD, placed them as per AH plan, then I fitted an UBEC6v3a (Id HK) and a rhino 360mAh 2S (R360-20-2) in the nose. However to get the CG correctly place, I had to put 23g lead in the nose, which at the end makes an heavy plane (the tale is probably too heavy). At the field I can't get higher launches than 20-25m, which is not what I'd expected...Great plane quite a lot of modelling experience needed and the correct tools for the job but goes together in about 35 hours and looks great. Few modifications done on the ailerons making them the length of the wing. Yet to fly it but so far it looks good would definitely recommendParts of excellent quality, especially pre-hinged rudder and elevator control surfaces. Perfectly veneered wing halves. Not yet flown, of course.I own a number of AH-gliders, and they are great planes! This too! The HN1033 is very nice and easy to handle, it will not go as slow as the more modern DLG-profiles, but it glides very well, and will not tipstall easily. This is however not the easiest AH-plane to build: There are a great deal of glassing to be done and the tail can be a bit tricky. My final build weight (empty) is 168 g. That is due to lacquer on the wing and tail (you need that!) and some reinforcements, that I think are really unneeded but I like to feel safe:). It needs another 40 gram in the nose to balance, and about 10 g of servos in the wing so final weight will be around 220 gram. That is not light, but the wings fly beautifully even with a much higher wingloading.Great plane, great factory, great flight.
