OK....I'm using this little motor on a stick and tissue build (Pat Tritle Cessna L-19 Bird Dog 40" WS Dumas kit ) 2S or 3S 450mAh lipo and 8x3.8 or 8x4 SF prop. Stunning scale flying with this motor at only half power and fly comfortably 12-15 min.

What I have done is, taken out the existing shaft and replaced it with a shaft from the CD slide tray from a PC. (tow shafts 3mm and maybe 120mm long)
The end of the shaft hold up against a bench grinder an create a flat surface for a barrel retainer 3mm with grub screw.( SKU: 016-00302x10 ) cut the shaft to what ever length you need. And remove the two screws from the prop saver! ( will give you balance problems otherwise )
Very happy and have bought 2x more.

Fragile motor. A very light crash bent the shaft support on front of the bell. The metal there was paper thin and could be easily bent by fingers pushing on the shaft. It was not possible to get bell and shaft straight again. Could come close with a prop balancer but would bend again.(must take out screws while balancing.) This is how they were able to get great power with light weight. The d2822/14 has much thicker metal at that point and is a much more resilient motor.

Not sure if this motor is any good but I can definitely attest that the prop saver is the worst I have seen so far. An obscure size, protrudes very little and cannot be removed. Props can't stay on and right away after take off fell into a nose dive and bent the motor shaft. Motor is now useless. Pretty unhappy. Recommend making a custom prop with a dremel and bore out the whole exactly the right size and make a relief for the screw heads so you don't end up with disappointing results

I bought it for my 1,3 m flying wing. I use it with 3S 1500 mAh Lipo with 5x4 Graupner Slim Prop 18A esc. Works very fine. Lots of power and speed. Motor is barely warm.

everybody says they are running this motor on 3s battery and turning a 8 x 4 prop or similar and doing great. where as it shows great thrust with this set-up, it gets too hot!

mine burned up a winding running a 8X 3.8 APC prop and 3s.it's a paper weight now. ran Ok with a 7x3.5 but not enough power.

the prop saver tip diameter was a bit too large to fit the GWS slow fly props properly, but that's an easy fix.

shame, seemed like a good motor.

it does have good power for its weight.

I use this with an 8x4.3 GWS prop, 10A turnigy ESC and 2s 610 Rhinos on a Hydrofoam flying boat (weighs 215 grams). Hovers at 60 throttle and has sufficient reserves for all sorts of aerobatics.

Pros: Powerful, cheap, integrated motor mount, looks good
Cons: integrated Prop Safer does not work with GWS-Props without modification (cone drilling into prop required). O-Ring is too soft, and the prop does not balance too well, which can lead to misalignment or loss of prop.

I pushed the shaft further through the motor and "dremeled" a new section to fit the snap ring, so the shaft protrudes a bit INTO the prop - thus providing accurate alignment, at the cost of disabling the prop safer function

It is a great Motor, is working in a Pulama with 270g, 2S800mAh lipo, ESC Robbe Roxxy 10A and a APC 9x3,8 SF. flies 10 to 14 minutes in 3D-style. I can recomment this Motor.
