Great after Tightening

After mounting BT30 on my Slick Tripod, noticed wobble at base of BT30 unit accompanied by "sticky grease" sounds. Closer look showed 3 hex screws at bottom of unit was not tightened properly so thick grease inside unit was slightly oozing and caused the wobble. A 2.5mm metric hex key tightened 3 screws and all is well and everything works smoothly.
Despite inadequate Quality Control in assembly, unit is well made and a great value.

I just took devivery of one of these, having bought the BT-30, and its little brother BC-30 in one order. It was around AUD16 or so. The BT-30 looks pretty good. Very similar to the BC-30, but has the fine ball adjust screw on it too. Not as smooth as my Sirui gear, but given that I paid a fraction of the price that I would have for a Sirui ball head, I'm happy. If it was full price, I think it would still be decent value, but then you could chip in another $20 and get a lower end Sirui, which might be a better option. 1/4" thread in the base of these, so you'll need to flip the screw on your tripod if it has that option.
Better than department store camera mounting equipment by a fair margin.

I bought for use with the tripods. All metal and well built. One out of the three had a nob that was crooked and could not be fixed without breaking it. Still worked but wobbled when turned. For the price I cannot complain.The other two were fine.

good quality, wrong size hole

Great value and good quality. However, the product description indicates it will accommodate a 3/8 in tripod screw. Mine came with a 1/4 in opening. HK reps cannot seem to understand that a 3/8 in bolt WILL NOT FIT into a 1/4in hole and Rich B keeps asking for more and more photos including shots of parts that are not part of the problem. NO FUSS RETURNS. What a JOKE!

Tripod screw

I bought a Cambofoto tripod that has a 3/8in screw for mounting the head, although the product description for this ball head indicates it accepts a 3/8 in tripod screw, the hole is only 1/4 in. I am returning this one and hope HK has the correct version.

I though I would give it a test.
It holds fast and operates smoothly so does what it is supposed to.
Quality is far better than I expected and really good build quality.
It is also compatible with Arca-Swiss mounts so happy days.
Being on offer makes it a no brainer...

I bought this on offer tongue in cheek. But this is great quality and very smooth control.
Being Arca-Swiss compatible is a major bonus.
