Although cheap in appearance up close, it looks fantastic in the air. I am only new to RC planes [12 months], this plane is super easy to fly and land. I love it!

Absolute machine! Buy one now! I had a long review but lost it....All ill say is its a dart. I am using zippy compact 3300mah batts as they fit perfectly in the allocated battery tray. the fan needed slight mods so it didn't foul. Once done...DART!!!! BUY ONE

The flying part: In the standard setup, this model is easy to take off and land. Reasonably fast without being terrifying, although the predominant white of the foam can make it a little tricky to see against white or grey clouds. Maybe adding some additional stripes on the underside would help. With a 4S 3700mAH LiPo I could get 5 1/2 minute flights (so set my timer to 4.5 minutes to not discharge the battery too far - typically 3.8 volts at end flight), most of which were spent near or at full power. Slow flight was benign and the stall pretty straight. The elevators were not effective enough to get a high alpha at low speed. Full power provided reasonable aerobatics but large loops were difficult. Fitting a 5S LiPo transformed the a/c into something much more lively but the fan sounded tortuous. Next step: fitted a Dr Mad Thrust light weight Alloy DPS 70mm Ducted Fan Unit (4S/4000kv/900W) - the model now produces well over 1/1 power to weight ratio and the performance is amazing - blisteringly fast (even with the fixed u/c), better sound and capable of huge manoeuvres - WOW. Unfortunately it takes about a minute off your flight time - but use the power as needed. This modification I would definitely recommend and at Au$40 cheap too. Now - what will happen when I couple a 5S Lipo battery with this fan? Hopefully the ESC will cope but I'll let you know..... in the meantime I w

The build. First I have to say Great value for money, second thing - you get what you pay for... Stuff that needed fixing: 1. the glue used to attach the foam and plastic components is poor and likely to fail in-flight or on landing. I cut the fuselage parts along the join with a sharp knife and re-glued them with epoxy & a silicon glue. This includes the foam to nose and main gear plastic fittings. 2. The nose wheel steering assembly was assembled back to front - easy to fix. 3. The rudder servo was glued in place incorrectly such that the horn was too far from the rudder - needed a longer pushrod to fix - easy fix. 4. Not enough throw on the elevators - using a longer horn and increasing the servo travel via the Tx fixed this. 5. When the wing was fitted, the plastic fan distorted casing the fan blades to catch on the case- a little cutting out, sanding and careful placement fixed this. 6. Instruction sheet contains useful pictures but generally not very helpful - would recommend if you are new to aero-modelling, get a seasoned modeller to help or give advice. Overall, the assembly was easy but contained a few 'Gotchas' for the unwary. The flying part in the next review.

Too words from me on this aircraft - buy it!!!!

Easy to assembly, great access to the EDF if you need to fix/ change something. I burnt out the motor after bad installation but swapped it out in no time. Set the CG and maidened without any problems.

Great 1st or 2nd EDF. Will try 5S battery when I get more confidence.

My meteor arrived, well boxed with NO damage. It is easy to put together and is made very well. The fan unit spins nicely and I will be running it on 5s 3000mah 20c lipos which I bought with the plane.

5/5 - Ill report back once its maidened this weekend!

This model was well packed undamaged for the air frame the EDF is a different story has been damaged when it was being set up in the factory. 2 of the blades are hitting the case as the case has been compressed when it was being tested in the factory.
Have replace the 5 blade fan 70mm with a 68mm 4 blade now only pulls 36amp fly's well battery has to be placed in 1inch more to the front to get the CG right.
Landing are good a bit fast but has a good glide ratio, will try some differnt setup when the new EDF arrives not a standard 70mm EDF most only have 68mm or 69mm fan.
Can't beat the price this model should be sold in the international warehouse.

Not so happy with this one. Received plane and noticed immediately that the EDF unit had damage on the inside of the duct where the blades have been hitting so this means I am not the first to spin the off centre motor. The glue packets perforated and went everywhere gluing everything in the bag together making it so difficult to get the rudder link out I have bent it already. The motor has damage on the rear outrunner housing. And the nuts that hold the wings have no thread inside them so I can't even attach the wings. So to get this thing off the ground I need a new EDF unit (not the same one because its only $6 worth but still annoying because nice to fly it standard before making modifications the cost of shipping it back for warranty would be a pointless exercise for $6 credit). Then I have to go find some nuts to attach the wings which will be tough looking at the threads on the screws.

Not good enough HK, it would be good value if I could fly it but really it's a $120 piece of foam, the EDF should not have been damaged by someone starting the engine off centre and then sent to me as new. Grrrrrrrrr.

Update: 5S in the stock Meteor - That turns it into a new plane! Much faster and much more impressive. The stock electronics and motor cope with it fine, but I do hear that just a few people had issues on 5S. Just grab a Zippy 5S 3000mAH 20C battery (or a few!), which are just over $20 and are perfect for that task! I have some 30C also, but they cost more and for this job they were no better, just heavier. Now I have changed the EDF out for a 70mm CS 10-blade, with a 2300kv motor on 5S, and it is a tiny bit slower - still fast at over 140kph - but with the 10 blade fan it sounds like a jet almost! I used a L2855-2300kv motor in that. The stock 3000kv is way too high kv for high blade count fans.
