This is my second F-86 from HK. The first one flew great for about 4 months until one of the stock aileron servos stopped working in flight and resulted in crash. This time when I got the model I replaced all servos with HK metal gear 9g servos all around except for the elevator which I used a 20g metal gear servo. I also opted for a Cyclone Power IR 550-2800-40 (inrunner) motor and a Cyclone Power 10 blade fan which utilizes 4S and 5S batteries. I also changed ESC to a HeadsUpRC 100 amp opto with a 6 amp BEC. All other flight accessories were included and in good shape. I also had trouble with landing gear retracts coming out of the blocks so I took both out and put Gorrilla Glue on both to hold them tightly. I use a NanoTech 65C-3850 lipo (5 cell). The jet flies flawlessly. On 5S this thing jumps into the air and flies with authority...landing is a thing of beauty and glides in but do have some power in reserve just in case. I use flaps and air brakes on landing. On 4S, she takes quite a bit of runway and flies very docile. As long as they make these jets, I will own one. Best value for the money even though there are some electronic issues with default equipment.

Jet arrived undamaged. Was quickly assembled and test flown same day. I was running 4S 4000mah 40C pack and battery forward found the CG so close to perfect I barely had to trim it out. First complaint is to the lack of power. I used a lot of runway to get her airborne. Flew awesome though and was so easy to fly even I was impressed. So 30 flights later I upgraded to a 3580 metal housing 70MM 5 blade setup and I almost ripped the wings off. Easily doubles the speed to over a 100 at full throttle. Definitely reinforce the wings through the entire center of gravity with carbon fiber. This plane was awesome with power. Sounded mean as hell and moved over 160 mph in a dive. The flat bottom and large surface lifting body and huge wings meant solid angles on a high alpha approach. Handled the wind a little poorly due to light weight, but again, it was a blast to fly. Past tense. I now have the tail mounted on the wall after the aileron separated in a high speed dive. CA hinge would have fixed that. DO ALL HINGES WITH CA FLEX HINGES!!!! I learned the hard way and although every single component survived internally, including the motor and a bent 4S battery, $1.00 worth of hinges would have kept it from being a pile of scrap foam. with a trophy of the tail on the wall. This plane officially kicked ass with that motor. Weakened gear issues aside. $100.00 worth of upgrades and this plane

Alrighty then. I love this jet. Stock and out of the box, there were a few issues. All of them aside and 6 hours of modifications to include the landing gear and one faulty servo wire, and some beefing up on the nose gear. This plane is fun. The lifting surface area makes it handle more like a glider. She has been modified and upgraded to a all metal housing and high speed motor assembly, but the stock setup on a 4000mah 4S 40C pack required a little more runway than I was comfortable with. New motor has doubled performance all around and I highly recommend the HK alloy DPS 68 mm all alloy housing and motor assembly. Overall, I love this plane. Looks great, flies like a champ, and if you only have a 6 channel, just link the speed doors and the flaps together. at 15pcnt throttle on approach, she keeps a nice high alpha and just floats in. I will upgrade to the all metal gear assembly next, but with glue and mod's, I have made the stock setup work. Sure the first review had me a little nervous, but the end result was all HK products need mod's to even get them going. All models from any company need mod's/ All 4 guys at my field had the same Visionaire for $300.00 and nothing but problems from day one on all four. If you like planes, get this plane. Just spend the dough and get the bad ass motor upgrade as soon as possible. She will power out of a tipstall in a hot second. Flies lik

What a plane, I got this as a Freebie!!!

The quality of the plane is good, the appearance is average but no serious complains.

I haven't flown yet because there is an unbalance in the EDF fan. I removed the fan unit and disassembled everything, to my surprise the motor seems to create the problem. I wish the imbalance was in the fan blades, which I could easily fix. Now I have to order a new motor, luckily there are some cheap 2836's (4mm shaft) in Hking.

Less important, the servos in the air-brake have strange behavior but I am not sure that they are faulty yet.

The battery compartment has 32mm height but is wide and long enough for big packs

Thank you Hking

it took only 37 hours to be in possession of the F-86 !! Amazing ! After having opened the box, there was a small desception: the manual, very poor.
Now the good news, it was the only desceotion ! Bearing in mind that this is an EPO, the finish is superb. I am hungry to see it fly, but as an unwritten aviation law says: if an aircraft looks good, it will fly good...

Got this one as a freebie so cannot complain about it really. Had I bought it however, I would have as the bearings in the motor are diabolical with almost 0.15mm radial play. Awful for a motor that has in theory had no use. But, it would not have been used anyway as the unit will be removed and a CS10 with Cyclone motor fitted in its place.
The rest of the model is in great shape and is a very nice aeroplane. Now just need the weather to fly it!

Got this in a flash sale at a price that was too good to pass on. Only been flying for a year so was a little apprehensive that I'd bitten off more than I could chew.. PNP out of the box everything went together well, just a bit of a gap between fuse halves, but well stuck with thick contact. Fan rubbed a little at first but seems reasonably balanced (I couldn't improve it!). Had to shave interior of canopy to fit Turnigy 4s 3.3Ahr battery as far forward as possible to get CofG.
Test flight nerves were unfounded this plane is a treat to fly, docile with 1/4" throws, though ailerons need a bit more as roll was sluggish (Will be increasing throws with each flight). Required only a couple of clicks of trim on elevator and aileron to track straight, hands off. First landing was with no flaps or aibrakes so came in reasonably fast and doesn't slow much, but pulled a greaser, not bad for a depron park jet jockey!
Sorted plane well worth the money for kit, flying ability and presence in the sky!

I bought the "Huff" version of this plane and on maiden got a rock in the fan and busted it. I couldn't wait so I too got an E-Flite BL15 inrunner 3600kv motor with DeltaV-15 fan and installed it with a HK Red Brick 70 opto ESC with HK 5 amp BEC. I'm using a Zippy Flitemax 40C-4S-4000 LiPo. It works great together. Mine is okay fast but not a screamer. But the handling is nothing short of a thing of beauty. It tracks straight, performs all maneuvers, and lands slowly and beautifully with full flaps and air brakes deployed. Easily my favorite plane!

Buoni voli a tutti.
