This is one of the greatest jet i have ever flown. When i got it it was easy to put together. I also added reinforced tape along the glued areas for more strength. The first flight Take off was easy just by powering up and it takes off by it self. There is some vibrations in the engine around half throttle. Landing tend to bounce a lot. Found out best way to land was to fly it in. Sadly, This plane crashed after i modified it to be launched off of the bungee. Going off the bungee requires a bit of stretch to take it off and power half way through. This thing has power, and fly faster and doesn't wing wobble in the air. It was a enjoyment for its money. It crashed due to no signal and went in. It is repairable after a big hit but i decided to give it a rest after having it for almost three years. But It is well worth its money and fun I ran it with a 2200mah 4s 40c lipo battery. all stock. This is a recommended plane for if some one wants to try a ducted fan. But not for a learner, stick to the high wing trainers.

Ok - so I was undecided about the 5 star quality review - but I really take into account the price tag when working out what I should expect - and it's definitely 5 stars.

This jet is a head turner... seriously. It looks spectacular in the air, and even better when flying over water. I use the beach at low tide as a runway and fly out over the surf, and it looks incredible - especially at sunset.

As for the vibration issue someone else mentioned - yes it's very noticeable and has enough force to pop the canopy off if it's not clicked down securely (be carefull that your receiver and battery leads don't get in the way of the canopy clicking on fully).

The jet is a blast to fly and lands like a dream! I've had one forced landing due to a low battery but that was no major drama as long as you keep your airspeed up by dropping the nose a bit if possible.

I've had a wheel come off in a tough landing when I caught a lump of sand as I touched down, but some epoxy fixed that up.

Watch out for the F4's tendancy to pitch up or down as you vary the throttle - just trim at a comfortable flying speed and it'll be fine.

Land like a real jet with the nose slightly up to wash off any excess speed on approach and it's as easy as anything to nail a perfect landing every time!

I like this jet but, I have tried to fly it twice and both times it went vetrical as soon as the rear wheels left the ground. Only way to level it was cut the throttle. Anyone else found this issue. The balance is slightly nose heavy at 150mm from leading edge ,as instructed. Is the CG wrong ???

Easy assembly, Awesome looks, The wiring is clean and simple. Just waiting on batteries. Now if they need to make an EPO version with retracts !!!!! Awesome jet !!!!!!

This is a great looking plane, although the eps foam gets marked very easily. I just wanted the airframe, so I stripped out all the electrics and put my own gear in. Its not as forgiving as other efs out there, and you need a load of expo, as it is very twitchy, but flies well as long as you keep the speed up. You can see mine here:

Excellent ARF plane! I assemble mine with stock equipment en roughly 30 minutes.
The only delay was that the battery connector on the ESC is reverse polarity so I cut and replaced it.
The CG is perfectly in place with nano tech or zippy 4s 2200mAh 40c. The plane is made to accommodate this battery size with no modification at all.
I painted her with ronseal matte clear water based varnish to protect the porous paint.
Flying is really easy, she was a bit nose heavy so I put 3 elevator clicks.
Take off are amazingly short and landings without surprises.

This is my new champion.

it is worth to install electric retracts for a better look and performance.

I perchased this jet after waiting months for it to be back in stock it was shipped to my home and the box looked fine but when I opend it up my jet was damaged! one of the air intakes was crushed!! Very disapointed and will probably not buy from hobby king any more. With only the plane damaged and not the box it was shipped in leads me to believe that it was damaged during the packing proscess. Sooo very dissapointed. Such a pretty plane

Recieved my F4 today. Seems HK is getting better with packaging...arrived without damage. I have to agree that pictures don't do it justice...it's a nice looking plane and can't wait to get it in the air.

It arrived well packaged and undamaged. Good job on the shipping HobbyKing! It almost seems like there is too little in the box when you open it, but it's all there.

Overall, the fit and finish are good and the battery area is a perfect fit for a Tournegy 4s 2200 LiPo. The fan seems a little out of balance... certainly some bad harmonics with it at almost anything other than full power.

The wings fit well, but I'm always a little suspicious when there isn't a spar and they mostly just glue on to the fuse without much in the way of a 'tab'. I think I'm going to put a carbon fibre spar in just for the heck of it.

Otherwise, it went together well. I used HobbyKing rare earth magnets for the radome so I can remove it for fixing, or whatever. I also added another servo and hinged the rudder. Looking forward to getting it into the air! Flight report to follow!
