Howdy Pilots, finally got this lady in the sky but not before a few heart flutters. Trying to taxi down the runway had the plane zig zagging left to right due to the touchy nature of the front wheel servo. Trimmed it right back to 20 per cent and was much better. Full throttle down the runway and I was jumping in the air hoping she would follow suit and after about 40 feet she finally broke gravity and crawled into the sky. Had to have full throttle the whole time in fear of the old girl falling from the sky. Landing was fine but unhappy with the power issue. Back home with the hobby knife I removed a small amount of foam from the battery compartment to allow for an 1800mAh 30c battery. Tried again and she leaped into the sky. The extra C rating was all she needed and the small amount of extra weight of the larger battery helped with the CG as well. The plane is very responsive but I did not feel secure enough to do full loops, just kept it to scale flying. Overall I am happy with the plane but will attack it with my air brush to change the colour scheme to make her look less like a kid's toy. I may upgrade her in the near future but I am satisfied with it's performance, for now. Blue skies...Allan

great looking plane with a great price. It barely flies on a 3S battery and the motor won't handle a 4S. If you fly off grass, you'll need to hand launch it, but don't expect any high performance. It sure has a unique look and everyone will want to watch it fly. VERY difficult to see in the air. You've gotta keep it in close if you are flying on a cloudy day because the grey blends into the clouds easily. I put a more powerful 4S fan unit (50mm Dr Mad Thrust) and carved out the battery compartment to hold a 4S2200 and it made a huge difference.

packing looked sparse. box is easily compressed,no damage to parts in shipping.only minor issues like short on screws . assembly was easy. great model.ordered another for spare. added vents for esc and spars for wings.will update after flight test.

Just inventoried the kit and everything is good no dings or dents very fast shipping took longer to print order then it did to ship' this is my 30 orders from HK and never any problem this is no exception Starmax makes a great product I have several and they never disappoint me the quality is great the SU-35 is awsome the Pitts 1600 is great now the He 162 also great the only problem is the supply , I suck as a pilot and good at lawn darts so plane have a short life span I should have ordered both that were at US warehouse but did not want to be a hog anyway all the planes i have bought from HK and not 1 problem well hope my luck holds out ' Stop by and watch all the action at 2FOOLYOU on u tube .

This little plane rocks! It is remarkably stable, and ALWAYS a head turner at the field. I added a 9g servo, hinges and made up rudder control which makes a significant improvement in control. Even in windy conditions, this 162 slices through. Underpowered, cant do loops but will do very snappy axial rolls. Stick the landings easily too. I added a pilot to make it look more realistic, but no ejection seat, LOL. I have too many flights to count, and the plane has taken a beating but still tracks straight and true. Incredible and huge fun.

Howdy Pilots, this model is well constructed, paint job was fair and had a few patchy spots here and there. Construction was a breeze with all parts fitting together nicely. Did my usual fitting out in the cockpit using some bits and pieces I had from a damaged F-18 cockpit and rebuilt the dashboard and leading front panel. I finished it off with a dashboard sticker from the Ryan replacement set and I used one of the 1100mm P-51 pilots which I repainted to Luftwaffe specs. Waiting for a nice day to maiden this one and will let you know how she flies. Good all round but I would like to have it in a different colour scheme, one similar to the Freewing Me262 would be awesome and I'm sure HK would sell more, this colour scheme lacks eye appeal but I do have a soft spot for all the Nazi planes so I will wear it or perhaps attack it with the air brush to satisfy my desires. Love this plane! Maiden plus five more flights this weekend (March 2013). It is underpowered and with a fully charged 3S 2200 maH Nano-Tech LiPos, barely has enough power to take off and definitely not enough to climb at all, nor do I dare attempt a loop. 20A at full throttle, so I may need to see if a throttle end point adjustment would possibly make a difference. Still, it is remarkably stable for its size, and not a hint of tip stall even at high banked turns. No rudder control on the plane, but a steerable nose wheel. I added a small WWII pilot to add to the coolness factor of this plane, and I set it up to be slightly nose heavy (CG referenced upright 412 mm from the nose) with no added weight, the 2200 maH battery 1.25 inches back from the front of the battery hatch. It is a tight fit, but keeps the battery from falling out. Used 30 min epoxy on all connection points. The control throws- 10mm aileron, 6mm elevator, both at 45pcnt expo with dual rate options at 125pcnt. My suggestion is to start with lower aileron rates until trimmed as youll have a handful as did I in the trimming process. The He-162 looks great with slow flybys and is a very unique plane not often seen in RC form. Arrived in 5 days from the USA warehouse, nothing broken, but a couple dings in the left wing leading edge all hardware present. I gave it 4 crowns only due to the underpower

Plane arrived quickly. I used foam safe CA and had it together in 20 minutes. All the packaging was clearly marked as to what it was for which took alot of guesswork out of it. The CG measurement was slightly off but I adjusted it to what I like which is slightly nose heavy not much just a pinch. I used an orange rx and put an orange rx flight stabilizer in it. It flew great the stabilizer works better than I thought. Handled awesome. I would recommend that you put the stabilizer in it and make sure its properly installed so you dont have any big problems.
