Problems noticed within minutes of opening the box and checking the fit of parts. The tail gear assembly does not match up to the hole drilled in the tail boom. I had to enlarge the hole which adds vibration potential with the silver plug smaller than the hole it sits in. The CF frame was not drilled precise enough. Without a modification (elongate the frame holes), the rear drive assembly does not properly contact the main gear. Next, the canopy has to be cut or trimmed because it chafes against the main gear. Quality issues, quality issues, quality issues...

Ok, I'm liking what I'm seeing, everything looks to be good quality. Surprise though I got a blue canopy. Didn't take too long to come, will set up and fly soon...stay tuned.

Ich bin vom Belt auf diesen Heli umgestiegen und muss sagen kein Vergleich, fliegt um Huser besser, fr den Preis wirklich ok. Zwei kleine Kritikpunkte gibts aber trotzdem 1. das Heck war falsch herum zusammengebaut und 2. eine Schraube im Rahmen wurde eingeklebt weil das Gewinde ins Alu beschdigt wurde.

Awesome kit! Very complete. Missing no parts upon arrival. Comes with quite a few spare screws. Make sure that you take all pre-assembled parts and break them down. Every screw going into metal will need blue lock-tite. Blade grip thrust bearings were dry, needing greased. Again... very pleased. Thanks HK!

My first 450 heli kit, after broken Twister Storm 400.
Have had first problem to locate right motor. First I bought NTM Rotor Drive 450 Series 3400KV That's BAD. Holes in this motor are 2.5 mm, should by 3mm as supplied screws and diameter 3.5 mm for pinion - supplied 3.17 mm. I should reading more.
Second problem was Main Gear set. Supplied set was not parallel Main gear playing up and down nearly 3mm. It also looks bit egg shaped but I'm not able to check it as I still awaiting for motor RotorStar Brushless Outrunner Helicopter - 2839-2700kv PRODUCT ID: 9192000148-0.
If you don't know how to mount servos look at Trex450ProManual-1 (Google) before stating "huge project mistake". This is a copy of Trex, quite good preassembled so minimum adjustment needs to be done. Of course for this price you may not expect original Align quality but I think this is very good starting point to get decent helicopter.

It's my first 450 heli, for the price is a very good product. Just keep the revs below 3000 RPM with the original rotor blades!

Good value for money. Was happy to part with only AUD $67 to get the experience with building & flying a flybar'ed 450 as all my other's are FBL & DFC. Blog entry @ http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2230806 covers my experience with it so far! Just wish they wouldn't bother with the loctite, especially on the feathering shaft as the thrust bearings aren't even greased!

Very high quality frame. Mine arrived on time and was very nicely packed. This is my second heli and it flies very nicely and is an improvement on the HK-450GT CCPM 3D Full Alloy Helicopter Kit. For anyone wondering about servos it takes three micro servos (5 - 10g) on the swash plate and one park servo (21 - 30g) on the tail and I'd recommend you use a digital servo on the tail. The mounting plate on this heli takes a tail servo with four screw holes not two. Also my canopy was blue, not red like in the picture.
