The Wargo Signature MX2 3D, named after Michael Wargo, was designed to be a 3D aerobatic training aircraft.   It's a wonderful combination of value and performance without compromising aerobatic precision or 3D aerobatic maneuvers.

Michael Wargo, our team pilot, and 3D expert wanted a foam aircraft that was stiffer and more precise to improve 3D, tumbling, and precision flying.  The Wargo MX2 is a perfect platform to take a pilot from sports flying to flying 3D aerobatics.   Michael has dedicated much of his career towards aerobatic training and teaching 3D aerobatics to pilots around the world to bring their skills to the next level.  The result is a phenomenal aircraft that will hover, harrier, and tumble incredibly well.   Any accomplished 3D pilot will love this plane.   It can perform maneuvers ultra-light foamies cannot because it is designed to maintain momentum and perform high-energy and tumbling maneuvers.

The Wargo MX2 is a blast to fly, light enough to fly anywhere, and easy to transport.

The best!

Nov 06, 2020

Excellent model to practice 3d flying. In fact the best I have found. I have already got through half a dozen, and always have a couple spare.

Good plane for the price

Oct 29, 2020

Great little plane for learning 3D. The undercarriage has been strengthened which is far better than previously. This planes needs metal geared servos and I fitted a Leopard 1038 kv motor which is perfect for this plane, 6 minutes flying with a 1500 mah 3 cell doing prop hangs, knife edge flat spins etc. I've seen some negative reports posted, but I'd say give it time, if you've been flying sports planes, this is a totally different flying and takes time to get used to it.

Very Good Plane

Oct 13, 2020

Easy to build. A great 3d trainer plane. A very good 3D plane. My only complaint is the fuselage is small and hard to get all the hardware in. Also tail heavy but it's working OK for me.

Flies great

Sep 29, 2020

A bit tail heavy so as usual I reinforced the front end to also add some weight. Flew beautifully first flight, but checking later found every one of the aileron hinges I’d thin CA’d to the wings just slipped out like they’d never seen glue! I’d strongly recommend using epoxy on these not CA as in the instructions. Didn’t bother with undercarriage.

Very Good Plane

Sep 22, 2020

One of the easier builds I've done. I did have to shim the elevator. I wasn't able to install the plastic tail wheel support piece as it seemed to bind the rudder.
The small fuselage makes installing the esc and battery challenging. I'm using a 1550mAh pack, a 40A ESC, and a 480 motor. I too am finding the plane tail heavy. I'm about half an inch behind the manual's CG. I ordered a spinner to help a bit.
I've got about 5 flights on it. It flies very good. I'm able to knife edges, tumble, hover, flat spin, blender, and harrier. I haven't been able to pull off a knife edge spin yet. I do need to mix the elevator and rudder.

Totally Disappointed

Jan 06, 2020

After a great experience with the HobbyKing Voltiguer, this has been a big disappointment overall.
The first clue that something was amiss was that the CG was 40mm aft even with a 1500mah battery shoved all the way forward. At first, I flew the plane with the aft CG thinking there had been a mistake in the documentation, but it flew like crap as expected - porpoising and very hard to control as described in other posts.
The CG needs to be at 75mm for this thing to fly properly at all.
I put a slightly larger motor in to add some more weight forward and 10X4.7 SF prop. Even with the larger motor, I needed another 20 grams of lead to get the CG right. Once that was straightened out, I will say that the plane hovers very nicely (and NO - planes do not hover better with an aft CG). Unfortunately, as soon as I hit a high-G snap roll, the crappy paper hinges on the elevator broke, and I barely got the thing safely out of the air with half an elevator.
I would not recommend this plane for a beginner pilot as it is super squirelly, and almost impossible to get trimmed out. For some reason, I spend a minute getting it trimmed, 4 more minutes flying and the very next flight it is completely out of trim again.
Beware: ESC cooling is nonexistent! I ended up drilling a few holes in the canopy and firewall after burning up one ESC.
I really wanted to like this plane. I've tried two different motors; I'm on my second ESC, and have flown at least 30 batteries before leaving this review.
I'm not giving up yet - I'm going to try a few more things, but odds are this plane is going to be parts for something new.
Pros:
- Easy build
- Parts fit true.
- Hovers great
- Clear instructions
Cons: - Extra weight is needed even to get close to CG - Paper hinges are crap - Plane will not maintain trim - Interior balsa lamination seems poor (balsa has split out along the hinges) - No cooling for ESC

so so

plane flies super. covering on canopy very easy to peal off. minor crash, no worse than an EPP foam plane, split the fuselage and the wing covering. not happy.

Well designed and well made, great to fly

Sep 17, 2019

I bought the Hobby King Wargo MX2 to replace a 1m Foam Profile 3D plane. I simply transferred the motor , servos and receiver across. The Wargo is a much better plane, easy to assemble and everything lines up true. I required a small amount of lead in the front to balance, I also fitted a spinner. The wires all fit neatly inside the fuselage, my 1400 mah 3S battery fits up front and the receiver behind. The Wargo flies really well. It is so light and manoeuvrable looks good in the air and on the ground. Great value for money.
