quality seems ok, but it was missing the back beadlock ring, the carb was way off to where it wouldn't start and a good number of screws where lose out of the box. not a huge deal other then the missing beadlock which HK wasn't too worried about helping me with so i have to wait for the parts from someone else to come in. used a turnigy TGY-1501MG servo for the throttle/brake which fit almost perfect and works great, steering is a rovan 40kg. after adjusting the carb it fires right up and so far runs great. body fit and quality could be better but it works fine for what it is. over all i would recommend it, just dont expect it to be perfect.

This buggy is amazing!!! I have installed front and rear Integy shock tower braces, original DDM V2 pipe (bought on black friday 2012), Hostile gear set, LED's, 5000Mah, battery, DDM aluminium gas tank cap (NOTE: To use a DDM aluminium gas cap I had to purchase an actuall HPI tank: threading is different), ZIEKEL custom painted HPI body (graveyard scene), roto start (so much easier to start with a drill, i'm not for the pull start way and a GT3B 2.4 radio (fail safe feature works like a champ). All added up you are still in the $750-850 range well below HPI. Not only that check EBAY and compare a used one for the new one with all these add-ons and it doesn't compare. Once I completed breaking-in the engine the GPS consistently hit 43MPH. Took the beast to my track and all there believed it wwas an actuall HPI. One person new it was not do to the Rovan wheel brand stamp. I did several other folks that it is a king motor buggy (THEY WERE IMPRESSED). 6 of us raced at once and I had no issues keeping up with the leader. The leader was 4MPH faster do to him having the 30.5cc engine, mine is the 26cc. ( I was completly happy). Good job King Motors and Hobby King for offering the 260s at a great price. Today is Jan 25, 2013 and I just ordered another one because "the price is right". Note, I accidentaly posted this in the disscussion forum but meant to post it here in the product revi

Just found out that the fuel tank on mine seems to have a bigger filler cap, so all those PRETTY billet aluminum fuel caps for the HPI Baja won't fit! JUST an FYI everyone

Just got mine running right, most do not out of the box as you can find on the web. Its a great buggy but you have to do three things to make it right. Rebuild your differential, when I split the cases and looked inside it did have oil but not enough and had a butt load of RTV inside! Clean it out and put fresh oil in it. Next is Add the third Bearing to the input shaft of the transmission, if you dont you will be replacing parts later and the bearings are cheap at fasteddys.. To get a good idle replace the carb with a real Walbro 668 like used on the HPI. One last thing is clean the gas cap vent holes. Do these things and it will rock!!!

Got it a couple days ago and started playing, a little. Like other people have said you need to vent the gas cap or it will die after 6 minutes or so. Also mine is not as lucky as others. My carb will not adjust out to a good tune, after researching found the carb is cr@p. Ordered a Walbro 668 to replace it. Over all a good product you just need to go over it with a fine tooth comb.

I just received my new BAJA 260S and I was pretty displeased. As soon as I took it out of the box I noticed oil all over. The left, front shock had the cap cross threaded on, so the threads are damaged. The shock boot was also damaged. I also have a rear bumper that is broke right where the exhaust hanger is mounted. Looks like someone tightened it up too tight and broke it. I also discovered one of my axle boots is torn, poor assembly again. I tried contacting Hobbyking and nothing. I filled opened up a new request for these parts to be replaced on Jan. 31 and I still haven't heard anything, it is now Feb. 8th. If I don't get this resolved, this will be the last HobbyKing sees of me and about 30 of my club members.

Can't write enough positive review for the 260S. All of the components appear to be sturdy, but I haven't given it any kind of torture test. Ran 4 tanks through it in the dunes with the paddles available in the parts section, and performed flawlessly. It doesn't have the same kind of maneuverability in the air with throttle and brake adjustments, but it's enough on longer jumps to easily keep it under control. I was amazed at how well it was tuned for my location, started right up and only a tiny little adjustment was made to idle speed, but no tuning was necessary. Talk about a huge step from a nitro buggy, they're in a constant state of needing a tune! I'm at 2,600ft and 65F, using 30:1 with 91 octane...and mixture adjustments were spot on. I actually can't find anything wrong with this buggy. My only complaint, more of suggestion really, is that a RTR option should be available, or at the very least include servos. Finding a good servo for something you've never had experience with can be a learning experience. I decided on the S5040D for steering and the MG959 for throttle/brake, both servos available here. While it's moving, the steering is easily actuated but sitting still you can hear the servo bogging down from excess load. The throttle/brake servo is probably way overkill, but I like knowing that the only thing stopping this beast is more than capable of ha
