Static test produced 21.4 amp draw

In flight amp draw will be reduced so this proves to be a good balance.

G of G 50mm back from leading edge as stated. (on front edge of main spar)
Slight reinforcement to engine mount and brace on fuselage at front of wing.
Thin ply sheet used to reinforce wing bolt fixings too.
The cowl is a tricky fit so I did without it. (no big deal here).
Keep everything as far forward as possible.
I used an alloy spinner just for a little more weight up front.

Model performs wonderfully with predictable hand launch.
Nice vertical speed with very nice big loops. Gentle long landings.
Flight time is endless on the 1800mah batteries. Quite a nice glide too. The flat wing is an advantage.

All in all with this setup the model is a delight.

Build goes together in no time, the reinforcements are essential.
The whole thing fit a any car with the wings attached.

Tried to write review but didn't post? Trying again. Turnigy Aerodrive 2209/26 1130kv, 1000mah, 18A ESC, Pelikan aluminum "flow through" spinner with Aeronaut CAM 9x5 folding prop. 510 grams total weight. Keep everything as far forward as possible. As set up the plane is AMAZING! Flies like it's on rails. Disappointed with quality in the cowling and hatch area. I had to peel back the covering and extensively sand the fuselage so the cowling would fit. Cowling finish was terrible. I also replaced the plastic sheet hatch with fiberglass over balsa sheet. More work than I wanted but it was worth it. Great value. Posted "file" pictures.

While it looked good in the box I soon found the fuse to be a little twisted. the bblind nuts for the wing bolts were the wrong size which meant I had to break the bracket off and make a new one with new dubro blind nuts and bolts. If you have no experience building balsa models don't buy it.....

Plane will barely balance with a 2250 3s 65c nano. Very tail heavy. Flys decent slow roll rate with a lot of throw.

Feel a bit ripped as i just brought this plane as a platnium member only to find it advertised by hobbyking cheaper on ebay! dont buy this plane if you have no experience in balsa as instructions are poor

I love this plane!! I wouldn't recommend it with a 2205 if you're planning on flying a 1500 mAh battery though, it might be a bit too heavy (I can't say for sure though, I flew mine with a 2830 w/18A ESC and it flew GREAT). It can fly very smooth and the stall was very predictable, but even fully loaded and ready to fly it needed weight added to the nose to get the CG right. It came with a CD with the manual on it, which made putting it together easy. It rolls great and can handle inverted/aerobatics quite well!! It's one of those rare planes that will fly slow and aerobatics. The motor mount is a bit too weak to fly without the cowl (which wouldn't fit under the prop anyway) and I ended up breaking it on my second landing, otherwise it's a great plane and is GORGEOUS to look at!
