attempted to use this for a tricopter tilt servo mechanism sort of thing but dont think it turned out very well, using the car steering thing commonly found mentioned online seems to be a better choice after all

I discovered this little gadget after purchasing an aircraft here at Hobby King and discovering, for the first time ever that I needed a stick mount type motor. Rather than purchase another motor for stick mounting, I decided to use what I had on hand. This little gadget did the trick. I successfully mounted my Turnigy DST-1200 Brushless Bell Motor 1200kv PRODUCT ID: 9031000008 to it. The mount comes with all the necessary bolts (including those for a motor) and is adjustable so as to studly fit a number of stick sizes. It's fairly well made of an aluminum alloy material with a coat of paint so it isn't too difficult to perhaps open up some of the holes to slightly larger sizes, which is what I ended up having to do with two of the four holes where the motor mounts onto it. From center to center, two of the motor mount holes are approximately 19mm (0.75 inch) apart and the other two are 16mm (0.63 inch) apart.

I really liked the overal design of this but the screws do not appear to be the right size as they are extremely loose and wobble (for lack of a better term) when partially screwed in (no tension on them). Due to this I stripped one of the screw holes out before any real torque was applied. I plan on tapping it out for a slightly larger screw deminsion and continue using it.

Excellent mount! Very strong mount that works with GWS foamies. I have these on a GWS Formosa, Zero and FW190. Doesnt bend, flex or break! Highly recommended!

This item was supplied without the four nuts required to pull the clamp-down plate screws tight on the motor stick. The plate is not tapped but must be unless the nuts are supplied.
This mount will not help me to mount a 20 mm outrunner in a GWS airplane as it will bring the motor too low and not fit the cowling.
I've requested that Hobby King supply the missing nuts but I doubt if they will bother.

Good mount but mounting are poorly machined. One of the 4 holes have so much play I am unable to tighten the bolt.

Very practical for using on foamies. Very strong and doing it's job well. If you want a fast way to hold your electric motor, it's the way to do it.
