As this was my first Lipo purchase from

Hobby City, I decided to push this pack quite hard to see how it compares to my "premuim brand" Flight Power packs.



I connected two pack in series to yield a 4S 14.8V pack. This is better for cooling, and can be stacked different ways to fit different models.



My ET logger indicates 26A peak draw, over a 6 minute flight duration, so that's 10C average, & 20C peak.



Post flight the packs are nowhere near the 60 deg C limit, but slightly swollen, however the swelling reduces upon cooling. They hold balance well, and take 1100-1150mAh on the charger.



I've now had about 15 flights, and the performance is still strong. Overall an excellent pack, with performance on par with branded LiPo's but at a fraction of the price.

I bought this Lipo for a friend of mine who is new to modeling. It is very safe form him to use this battery. The cells are coming balanced and at about 40% charged. This is the ideal state for a lithium-polimer battery that is not in use. The 20C is far enought for the 10-12A current. After 2 month of weekly usage the battery is still in new condition. The inner resistance is only ~120 mOhm, and it's not increasing! Great price and performace combined with ultra-low weight package! I recomand this Lipo to everybody who is looking for a valuable and cheap battery! It gets 5 STARS from me!

good quality wires, arrived with both cells balanced at 3.91v, balance has stayed within .05v without balanced charger, discharged @13a max, always cool, cells marked 20-32c discharge rate. much better than $45 battery at LHS

Slight and compact. I use two of these batteries for an Extra of gasoline, one in the receiver and another in the ignition of the motor with very good results.

I bought this for a couple reasons.

I had just started ready good review of HobbyCity batteries and wanted to give them a try and the price was right for experimenting.



I'm glad I did. I have only a couple flights on it but I've done quite a bit of bench testing some FC28-05 rewinds I was doing. Under draws of 13amps the voltage never dropped below 7.75v for the 1 minute runs I did.



This matches up well to a hot brushless motor or GWS brushed motor.

Great battery, I use it as replacement for the stock nimh pack in my Dragonfly #4 heli, the weight is less than the original pack and it fits well (with small modifications). Flying time is around 10-15 minutes (stock setup, brushed motors). Just notice that the pack doesn't come with any connector plug, you have to buy one separately and solder it. Very nice pack for the price !

Im using one in my GWS tigermoth 400 with a gws brushless outrunner...



battery is the largest pack you could possibly fit in the stock battery holder without modifications. plus I like purple.
