I pull trucks with these motors. I have 2 trucks..... they win all the time...I only run for about 3-5 seconds so runtime heat is not a problem....I did crush a pinion side bearing though....runs in a class with twin nitro's and 2 cycle power (anything goes) with 8s ....we win all the time....jussayin'

This motor is a beast, it will putout loads of torque. My motor is in a 120mm (5") ducted fan and it performs well. The one issue the motor has is internal cooling. It has none. Prior to running the motor cooling holes will need to be cut in the front and back endplates. This is not difficult but must be done with extreme care not to cut into the motor windings. There is less than a 1/4" clearance from the endplates to the windings. When each cooling hole is drilled all shavings must be carefully removed from the core of the motor to prevent damage. This process is not difficult just take your time do not be in a hurry.

I would prefer to give 0 stars and not 1 for this motor. Some people propose this motor for the Haoye 5' EDF unit. If this motor was able for 100A and not 48A only and for 3000W and not 1600W only probably it would be okay for the job. But with 48A and 1600W it's okay only for making coffee and nothing else. Unfortunately I was one of the guys that bought this motor and a Haoye 5' EDF unit. The thrust was enough

to move the jet like a turtle and not to fly anyway. The throtle was at 50 only because at 100 throtle the Amps would go to 90A the Watts to 3000W and in one minute the motor would be past. Perhaps HobbyKing must thought to bring better and stronger motors for the 4.5' and 5' EDF units. This 700kv motor is totaly unsuitable for EDF units.

I have drilled 4 holes infront and 5 holes at the back cover of this motor to cool it. I tried it with 10 cell Lipo and a Haoye 5' EDF.At 50A - 1800W , at 60A - 2000W , at 70A - 2380W and at 80A - 2800W. I

tried to found the MAX Amp for this motor and at another site I found 48A only. If it is true , then it explains why this motor is running too hot and burns. This motor has great power for seconds but it is build in such a way that it could not resist more than 50A. So it works for seconds at enormous power {95A - 3600W} it is running hot and then it destroyed.

I did not trust this motor on a EDF jet , perhaps only at a boat with reduced throttle {about 55 only} for reduced Amp and a water jacket to cool it. At list the factory {or HObbyKing} must tell us the true MAX Amp in order to stop frying these motors. All tests lasted seconds only , that's why I did not fry me motor.

Have had 2 of these, pulling about 40-60 amps at 6s, with cooling jacket. as others have said, they run way too hot and will burn. Offshoreelectrics.com has discontinued carrying them because of this FYI

Save your money and get the Fegiao of the same size, much better motor.

Would this motor work in a single-motor (shafty) Super-Class Rock-Crawler? I assume it would since it has an ultra-low kV (slow speed) and is so big (tons of torque), but I wanted to get some input first. Thanks in advance...

I tested this engine with 4" EDF and 2 x 3S Turnigy LiPo Pack.

Max load 23 A 490W

Works perfect. Just a little bit warm after 3 min full load.

I think the better use this motor with 8S battery.

so far so good, i have read all of the pertinent comments and, drilled 5 big holes in front, 4 in the rear. useing it with a hk 5 inch fan in a combat models f16, should go good , ordering the sentilon 100 amp esc now will order a 5 amp 10s batt soon. i do not know if i need a cheeter hole yet but i will try it first and add the cheeter later. the plane flew real well on a webra gt 50 with a perry vp30.
