Sun can make troubles, it manipulates the measuring,

and mounting is difficult.

I prefere the Sensor for Brushless Motors.

When I purchased it, the reflective tape did not come so I almost threw it away. It was too cheap to claim the customer support. Now I see they started attaching the reflective tape... It works but the lack of communication drew it back to 4 star.

Use it T-Rex 500. Just paint one side of main shaft with white and other side with black. Glued sensor near shaft on frame with CA. Works perfect!

Am using optical RPM sensor to measure headspeed on my Logo 10 heli. Much easier to mount than the Hall Effect sensor with magnets. You just simply mark half the rotor shaft with a black felt tip pen, mount the sensor about 2-4mm away from the shaft, connect it to your E-logger and away you go! If you want to know your headspeed during your flight, then this is the unit to get.

this needs a bit of testing to get it to the right distance from the rotating object, depending on how reflective it is.

I got great results on my 450 helis, by painting the bottom of the gear. i used nail polish, black for half the gear and silver for the other half.

since i will be moving the sensor between my helis, i made a custom aluminum part, that holds the sensor and is held on one side of the motor mounting plate. i had to make the holes for the screws long, so that i can move the sensor away or close to the bottom of the gear.
