I have this motors running on a quad 4s batteries 12x4.5 props. After changed for a 14x4.5 props the motors or the ESC overheat flipping the copter upside down. Maybe I will try with 3s. They are nice and smoot but not recommended to push them to a big prop. The prop nut is extremely fragile.. specially the thread.. aluminum very soft and breakable. I recommend to buy extra prop adapters because any crash can break this sensitive part.

BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!!! The motor shafts on these motors have a tendency to break in half due to a manufacturing flaw.. Pretty sure HK is not going to pay to replace the quad frame, the other motors, the props or my very expensive WooKong-M... Thanks HK for selling crap.. BE WARNED!!!!!!

Quality of the product no problem. But performance still not yet satisfy
I use it for my quad. Using with 13X4 carbon fiber prop from HK. FC is APM 2.5. Result not as I'm expecting. Flight time only 8 minute with 4s 4000mah. For APM 2.5, must use 4s battery or you will lost control if use 3s. My quad still wobbling and need more tuning. This is due to too low RPM.

This is a great low rpm motor with good efficiency if used with the propper propellers etc. There are two things to mention. First off, the hole distance given in the above picture is WRONG. The holes are aranged in 120 degrees angles on a "circle" with a diameter of 32mm thus the hole to hole distance is 27.712813mm. Watch out for that as other wise the 2.5mm screws needed will not fit. As others mentioned, the inner holes are not threaded and as such could serve to position the motor using shafts or such but not for mounting.

The other thing I have to say is that one out of four motors I purchased has the magnets not glued in propperly in that one of them touches the electric magnets rendering this motor defective right from start. That's bad luck I belive but is anoying. Those motors which work, perform great though. Pulls about 6Amps on a 11x6 propeller at 3s.

Ok, Has anyone seen a clean adapter or method of mounting these on a Turnigy Talon V-2? Four screw pattern on Talon and three screw pattern on motor. I could make adapter plates and extend the overall diameter of the quad.

This is a well made motor, be advised thou it uses 3 screws (triangle shape) instead of 4 (cross shape) screws to mount with M2.5 holes.

This makes it useless for all quadrocopter frames sold at Hobbyking, unless u buy extra materials and make your own motor mounts.

On the other hand this motor is quite stable doesnt draw a lot of current, and its preety well balanced.(tested it with 1045 prop)



Also: only the outer holes on the base (the 27mm holes) can get a screw. the other holes the smaller ones (13mm) are decorative, no screw stays in the hole as it has no curves.



I made my own motor mounts and i m quite happy.

i give 3/5. for the excellent motor quality but not 5/5 because of the difficulty to mount.

I bought the first batch of these motors, after a few tumbles on my home made quads they are still doing well.
Quad all up weight is 1.165Kg ,props 11x4.7.
At 1/3 Throttle she hovers and Lipo 4s 1800 delivers 6.5A (1.625A per ESC), and at half throttle Lipo delivers 13.5A (3.375A per ESC), quad climbs strongly.
At full throttle battery delivers 40.5A to the quad,thats just over 10A per ESC.

Was searching for motors with low KV for my quad to go for time-duration flights. So together with Graupner 14x8 e-props and lipos from maxamps.com I got a flight time of 65 min and 29 sec.

The really nasty point is the motor mount with 3 2.5mm bolts in a triangle which needs some extra mounting efforts to get the motor on a copter arm.

It is quite obvious that this motor was created for some project and then sold to HobbyKing, you can see that a prop saver mount is still present while a prop holder is mounted. The mountings holes are very unusual and have a triangular design so you'll need a special frame. Mounting the motor may be an issue since it use very little screws, with 2,5mm diameter quite hard to find . The motor axle is very short and it would be a better idea to have it longer and in the bottom of the motor to allow opposite prop mount. Performances are just normal so price of this motor is totally too much high. Keda motors here in HobbyKing, IMHO, are the best value for multirotors.
