I bought a few of these to use along with linkage balls as servo rods for angled control surfaces - the pivot allows the rod to be parallel to the flow due to the nature of the ball link. I only used these on the control surface horn and I cut the other end off to fit. The other end on the servo arm is attached normally with servo ends so it is easily adjustable. Works very well however the rod is a bit flexible so you will need to put kinks in it or otherwise have guides to stop it bending.
